Is it just my FLGS or what?

I cant seem to get a copy of Open Fire!!

Has anyone else out there had the same problem?

And also guys...

I am just getting into FOW and I am going to do the Americans. Which time period are those box sets figs for?
And also is there a different "Army book" for each time period and army?
Will I need to get different books for different time periods?
Which book should i start with?

Thanks Guys!!

Open Fire! Minis lare ate war. There are few american lists for mid war and none for early war. The mid war lists are in the north africa book. Most american lists are late war. You can go for Turning Tide or the new Market Garden Book. IIRC Turning Tide has more different lists than market garden.

Open fire is readily available

You only get US para's in the box with British tanks.

The units work well with lists from the new 'market garden book'

This is a late war book, you'll find late war US lists in
- the version 3 forces book (generic lists)
- turning tide (Normandy)
- market garden (holland)
- blood guts and glory/ devils charge/ nuts (Lorraine, battle of the bulge)
- Cassino/ dogs and devils (Italy)

Hope that helps

So are there "Codex"'s for each era of the war?
And the Open Fire box set has "late" war stuff?
Do we purchase "campaign" books for the lists?

The game is divided into three 'times' early (39-41) mid (42-43) and late (44-45)

each time has books which have lists suitable to play against other lists from the same time (having an early list play a late list is not balanced in any way shape or form!)

Late books include
Version 3 forces book (generic lists)
'Dogs and Devils' and 'cassino' ( covers Italy)
'turning tide' and 'earth and steel' (normandy)
'grey wolf' and 'red bear' (Eastern front)
'market garden' and 'bridge by bridge' (Market garden)
'blood guts and glory', 'devils charge' and 'NUTS!' (lorrain and the bulge'

have a look on the web site 'easy army' for free lists
