I was under the impression that you were limited to 6 in scraps and 7 in brawls (unless you had arcane resoviour(spelling? ) and that you had to discard any surplus over the maximum.

However I've just been reading about Hamlin (Rat catcher) on pullmyfinger and it says on there about luring expendable minions to the their death and drawing 2 cards per model to make yourself a "monster hand"!

So have I been doing myself out of cards?

Yes you have

I believe the wording is, "maximum starting hand size". but I can't be certain as I don't have my book on me.

That's right?! I always forget about that lol

Theres no real limit to what your hand size can reach during a turn. I remember reading somewhere that Jacob Lynch can reach as many as 17 cards witha few shenanigans.

Brawl with Arcane Effigy = 8 Starting Cards + 2 Dead Man's Hands getting no aces or 8s = 14 cards total... I'd be interested in how he gets the remaining 3, as I can't wrap my head around it how he's doing it with just Jakob alone.

i dont recall the details, but alot of it was circumstancial or based on some ridiculous combo going off. Theres a couple of guys in my area that love to build lists around getting some crazy gimmick to happen; like maxing lynch's hand, getting teddy with armor, or some crazy varient on the papa bomb.

If you can track down that list and how he does it, I'd be interested in seeing that...

Rasputina has a hand of seven cards as standard. I suppose you could always throw Jack Daw in there as well to increase the hand size.

I don't find the effigy a good fit for Rasputina personally. The positive flip from the other totem is too valuable for her when hammering stuff.

Good thing the Effigy isn't a totem, but yes unless you're Neverborn you lose the ability to take totems, though I'm finding out from pullmyfinger that you cannot receive the benefit of Arcane Reservoir twice... Well crap lol
