Chaos and Chaos Demon codex both require the player to roll dice and check on a chart. On certain rolls of that chart, the player is told to bring units on to the board, such a Demon Prince or unit of Horrors. Put simply, what happens in a tournament if this happens and the player doesn't have the model?

In a friendly game I'd imagine people would just grab a nearby model of equal size and continue playing, but in a serious environment a lot of people might not like that.

For Tournaments? Same as pooping termagants. If you don't have the models, you don't get the benefits. Remove the Champion from the table.

Friendly game? Just grab that dreadnought and let's roll some dice.

That sums it up nicely. Though most people won't care if you grab Termagants w/spinefists, even when they should have devourers.

As an Ork player... if I Zogwort your IC... I must have a squig for you to use.

If you have effects which result in a 'new model' appearing in play, you need to provide those and have them 'available' for your army.

This exactly. Bring the extra models (or get your other identical models killed quick) if you want to use them. I'm looking forward to painting a bunch of extra lesser daemons.
