The ork codex, specifically the goffs section, says goffs occasionally decorate their equipment with checks and dags. I know what a check is, but what the heck is a dag? (In this context, rather than the urban slang context )

It just means checkered patterns.

Dags are lines of triangles of a different colour along the edge of an armour plate or outfit.

I always assumed the dag was the row of triangles and where the checks are the little boxes.
