Well, I joined this forum to post pictures of my work and admire the (generally superior) work of others, so here we go!
I reckon rather than clutter up the showcase forum by making a new thread every time I finish a project, I'd just make one big ol' thread that I put everything in.
So without further ado, the first minis!
Myself and a couple of friends decided to dabble in Blood Bowl a little bit, I got something of a headstart on the others so my team (Skaven) is now fully finished and based.
Rather than pay a £30+ for some dated GW Metal minis, I just bought a cheap box of clanrats and did some minor conversion work, hooray for being a tightass!
Also, please ignore the dust on some of the models, I have a very dusty room
Thrower
Linerats
Blitzers
Gutter Runners
Rat Ogre (repurposed from my old Skaven Army)
And just for fun, this little chap represents an Apothecary

Well, this is getting a few views, so that's encouraging
Anyway, just finished a Halfling BSB model from Thebattleforge, it's a pretty neat model, although IMO the sculpting on the hands, feet and face is a little bit derpy.
Also used the banner as an excuse to try some freehand.

Well, seems like I'll go first
I'm loving the models so far! Those Skaven are awesome, I love the mock apothecary! Some of them look like they could do with a wash of some sort though, they seem a bit blocky.
That Halfling BSB is equally sweet, the freehand cockrel is very well done! Gotta agree with the slight derpiness of the sculpt, but hey, maybe that's why they gave him the big cloth-wrapped stick
As for the Kriegsmen, I love them! Always been a big fan of the models, and you've really done an awesome job on them.
I'll be keeping an eye on this, love to see more of your work

Thank you for the feedback! The Skaven actually have been washed but the pictures make it sort of hard to tell.

A quick update for you fellas, I found this old Space Crusade Chaos Marine kicking around in a box of old stuff and decided to paint him up. I have a couple more of these guys that'll I try to put up here
as well when I get them finished.
I went with Night Lords as the colour scheme because I am a fan of the batman-marines.
Not 100% happy with how the sword looks, but it's not a major enough gripe for me to redo it.
This guy has the angriest pauldrons in the galaxy.

Nice to see your teams finished, no pressure on anybody else like! The quartermaster is nicely done, especially the red, which is a really nice contrast to the darker shades used. The night lord is nice as well- got to love the retro stuff!

Hi Fellas, just a quick post to apologise for not getting any new pics up as quick as I'd have liked to, been having a few problems around the house that've distracted me from my painting duties.

And we're back! The things that were keeping me from putting up photos are largely done with now so I can show you some of the stuff I've been doing since the last update!
So, because I don't buy a lot of new miniatures but I have a HUGE backlog of old ones, I ventured into said backlog in search of something to paint and I found this WoC chosen model.
I wanted to try doing a sort of swirly detail pattern on the armour with... mixed success, but I learned from it and hopefully my next attempt will be more succesful.
And next up, myself and a friend are dabbling in 40k again after several years away, so we've decided to do a sort of mini hobby challenge in order to get an army each for some games.
I've gone with my old tyranids, digging them out and sprucing them up with a new paint scheme. Here's what I've got so far:
We're starting off small (400 points) so this Warrior is going to be serving as a Tyranid Prime for my HQ choice
I've got a unit of 10 Genestealers painted up, but since a) they all look more or less the same and b) my lightbox is pretty small, I've just photographed this selection of 3.

So later on this year, I'm planning to start a reasonable size project of some kind. Currently I'm thinking that an Orc/Ork army would be something fun to do, so I whipped up a couple of test models, one WHFB one 40K.
I've gone for a bright, almost cartoony colour scheme as after so many years of painting dark, gritty models I fancied a change.
The 40K Ork has an Evil Sunz paint scheme because Ork Biker Gangs are awesome, if this is what I choose to do as my project he'll probably end up as part of a Trukk Boyz squad.
His Fantasy counterpart would be part of some sort of Orc Pirate Crew (because pirates are the bestest), hence the fabulous stripy trousers.
And here's the two of them just chillin' out together.

More stuff! Yay!
For my latest mini project, I dipped my toe in the vast ocean of 15mm scale minis (hitherto unexplored by myself). The models I painted were some ace classic B-movie style Aliens from 15mm.co.uk.
They're listed as "Grey Aliens" on the site but because I painted their jumpsuits and weapons grey and silver, they desperately needed some colour, so they became Little Green Men!
The Alien Commander
The Science Team
The Engineering Crew
The Security Detachment
The Flying Saucer (temporarily grounded because I accidentally broke it's flying stand ) with and without canopy
And the whole landing party, ready to abduct some fools for the glory of Zarbulon or something.

So, I realised after doing the 15mm aliens that I needed some way to show scale in my pictures. The solution I came up with was to paint up a bog standard Space marine
to use as a frame of reference, seeing as most people probably know roughly how big a SM is. And thus was born Simon, the Size Comparison Space Marine!
He's painted up as a member of the 'Dark Eagles', one of those chapters that GW made up a name and colour scheme for and then forgot about forever.
Simon's first day on the job: standing next to an alien.
(also these pictures aren't great quality, I'll have to tinker with my camera to see what I can do in future.)

Given the colour schemes you've shown so far...
It's not easy being painting green?

Oh god, I've just noticed that almost every model I've posted here has at least some green on it. I think I have a problem Automatically Appended Next Post: Right, a quick update and the first in a while. I must apologise but it's quite a busy time for me right now and other things are taking priority.
Anyhoo, I had to paint this fella from Eureka Minis up because it seemed appropriate.
