Hi all,

So I am having a bit of a conundrum. I have this old librarian model, hopefully someone else has dealt with this guy before.

The problem I am having is that it is near impossible to get a
backpack to fit on to his back. Now, he was originally designed with an old style backpack, like the one here:

Unfortunately, I have misplaced it. I would also like to modernise him a bit with a new bolt pistol and backpack to keep up with my other models.
Basically I have 3 questions in my head:

1) Can his backpack only fit on with an old style design, as above? Or is the model just badly designed and its hard to fit any pack on.

2) Can anyone think of a way to modify a normal pack to sit on him, or some way to make it fit. I am reluctant to take a clippers to his shoulder, as I dont want to ruin him.

3) If I can fit a backpack on, do you think this old school one would fit/look cool. I think the cape would give him some gravitas that the older models lack when next to my sternguard.

Thanks in advance for any ideas you might have.

I just clipped the exhaust vent off one side for the same issue. Nobody notices, and I filed it off nice and smooth. So it just looks different rather than missing a part.

Can you show us the back of the librarian model? That way anyone who hasn't seen the back of it before might be able to help you.

Do you mean its not fitting flat against his back? With his right shoulder like that. I know on a similar model I just tilted it to the left slightly and it looks like he was lifting it up with his arm raised.

IIRC the back pack should fit exactly the same between new and old, as iv put the old ones on new models.

If it doesn't fit properly see if shimming a bit of plasticard would work or not. it depends on where it is hitting

green stuff can help and so can pins, especially considering it is plastic to metal.

hope that helps.

@ Wagguy80 - Thanks, thats exactly the kind of advice i was looking for, i only have 1 spare backpack, so I dont want to go cutting things off and then finding it doesnt work at all.
I might just try cutting off the vent. and possibly sculpting a cloak. Itll give me something to do tomorrow evening

@Winter

This image, along with the side view above, should show whats wrong, His right hand side shoulder pad basically extends much too far back.

@BolingbrokeIV - I would usually try to tilt it a bit, but with this model it just never seems to look right, its just a tad to far to sit comfortably. I was finding it hard to
actually find any pictures of a completed librarian, so Im not sure how this is commonly dealt with. Maybe I just being too picky.

Would the tilt look more severe than this...

..because I think that looks alright.
