Have not seen a thread in this model/paint forum about the new Stormtroopers from DreamForge, so here ya go...
Finally got a couple of figs built up. Reposed Ada's gun and gave her regular Stormtrooper legs to help support that big gun. Her legs were given to a prissy Prussian officer...
Now to figure out some colors...
Paint tests.
First pic is primer; left to right: cheapo WalMart gray primer, Krylon gray primer, hot rod gray primer(very dark gray).
Second pic is same figs drybrushed a bit.
Third pic is same figs with Badab black wash, except for Ada who is washed with a home made black/brown wash.
These were posted so people could get an idea what the figs look like painted in different colors and to help me decide what color to paint the troopers (and Black Widows). The Krylon fig definitely has the best light to dark range, although I was going for a slightly darker gray (essentially panzer gray) as shown in the box illustrations. Will try another coat of wash and see what that does.
The lightest color fig would be a good start on white or near white armor. With another white or near white drybrush, he would appear white.
The darker figs are studies for the color of the Black Widows. They are definitely on patchy side, probably because the final drybrush color is too light and I went a bit too heavy with it. Will try to tone it down with a darker drybrush.

Those are some pretty neat models. Till now I've just seen them in the theoretical "this is what they will someday look like" pictures from the kickstarter. I'm sure there were pictures of the models somewhere, but I wasn't looking.
I think they'd make great DKoK alternates, for anyone who loves the gas mask but isn't in love with the trench coat.
I agree the krylon mini definitely shows the most variation, but I'm a sucker for dark grey and grey-blacks.
Thanks for tossing this up, if I wasn't going mantic for guard models (and warpath), I think these may come in second.

Now first off, these models are SOOOOOOOOOOO the brotherhood of steel from fallout 3.
As such I'd advise giving them a silver or fadded grey colour. But thats just me.

I was wondering what these guys looked like - i was going to get some to replace my GW guys.
They actually look quite good, appear reasonably tall. Are they a lot taller than the GW Cadians?

Well, the heads of the few Cadians I have seem to have gone missing, but here is a pic.
Here is the Krylon guy with a second coat of Badab Black. Seems to have lost a lot of the highlighting, although the camera flash brings some of it back.

HERMEGERD IKR. I keep feeling that these guys should only be used for dkok. Their armour plates dont match any other ig army well.

IMHO - DKoK don't really wear much armor either, and what they do is hidden by their greatcoats, so I wouldn't even say they go real well with DKoK other than association because they wear respirators, and from what I understand DKoK are actually very skinny models, skinnier than Cadians by a good sight (can't confirm as I don't have them, just what I have heard) and these guys are beefier than even a Cadian, I would be inclined to make them a complete new regiment of guard, make up my own fluff etc, if I was going to do it (and that is not outside the realm of possibility because these models are awesome!)
Keep up the good work, Love seeing these models getting out on the boards as they are very well done IMO Automatically Appended Next Post: Hey Timd, sorry to bother, would you happen to have any IG Tanks that you could show for scaling with the stormtroopers? Leman Russ would probably be the big one, or Chimera?

"You are like a son and together we have all but conquered the galaxy. Now the time has come for me to retire to Terra. My work as a soldier is done and now passes to you for I have great tasks to perform in my earthly sanctum. I name you Warmaster and from this day forth all of my armies and generals shall take orders from you as if the words came from mine own mouth. But words of caution I have for you for your brother Primarchs are strong of will, of thought and of action.

I have an IG army, but its all the old plastics (and related metals), not Cadians.
Guy on the left is one of the new cultists with Cadian head, although I managed to completely obscure his head with the whip.
