I have been playing for a bit now and i chose ramos. to be honest i find ramos difficult to play i feel i should get a different crew but i don't know what to go for a bit of advice would be appreciated please.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I should probably be a bit more specific i would like a crew that is different to ramos with everything he isn't so speed, board control and low model count. it would also be nice to have a more competitive crew.

I'd recommend McMourning. a very combat based master whos fast and not that relient on his crew. and as a rezzer he take take lots of cheap models to help bump up your crew size.

Malifaux - Rezzers
The Other Side - King's Empire & Abysinnia
40K - Iron Hands

Thats interesting is Mcmourning really that fast? I am kind of looking to spend less money on my second crew than i have on ramos well at first anyway.

McMourning is really fast. He has a starting cache of 6, but can spend soulstones at the beginning of the game to give him body part counters. He has an above average Walk/Charge of 5/7, he can give himself (+1) Fast by spending a Body Part Counter which gives him an extra action point. His (0) Scalpel Slingin' is basically a free 6 inch move. You pick a target within 6 inches, make a Rg6 Melee strike with your Surgical Implements. If you damage the model, you move McMourning into base contact and you can get a body part counter from triggering Cb(Crows) A Piece for me. From there, he can slice and dice as he wishes. So if he doesn't have to move, McMourning can get 4 attacks in a turn. This is more attacks than a melee beatstick like Chompy, Lady Justice, etc, who top out at 3 attacks (unless they get fast).

Every time you deal damage with McMourning you heal him a number of Wd (wounds) equal to the Dg (damage) you dealt, he ignores Armor and Hard to Wound (which is fantastic).

And he can summon Flesh Constructs and Canine Remains, though he still needs a 10 of crows or higher to do it

McMourning is probably the Ressers master that I have the most fun with, namely because I don't have to wait for corpse counters to pile up to start summoning stuff like I do with Nicodem,

Sounds to me like you'd get on with the Ortegas! Pedita is Fast. They have auto triggers, high Df and can do a few basic synergies through their Family trait. You wont need much more than the boxset and they're easy to use. No summoning.

Need more 's in my life!

I've not yet had a game with the rail crew but am working through the 10T masters and have a game with Mei tomorrow which i'll post up in my 10T thread if you're interested. All I can say so far is that the Malifaux plastics are amazing.

Perdita is a great choice. You could also go with the viktorias, for a small fast hitting close combat force. Personally though, i think you might want to go with Collette. She stays in the arcanist faction so you can keep it themed that way and shes got so many awesome tricks and movement abilities, she is incredibly fun to play.

Perditta is a fast master, good movement, abilities, and a crazy high defense. The rest of the crew is slow moving and can't keep up. If you want a crew to keep up with here you will need two Wardens. Each character in the Ortega box is playable. Maybe not papa loco. But it is a great start. Add a student of conflict next to niño for long range fun.

I got to play the Ortegas for the first time last night... not too impressed, but that was mostly because we were playing a team game, and my partner wasn't holding his own :-\ So it was basically:

Mei Fang
Misaki
2 Torkages
2 Archers (may have had something more)
Rail Golem
3 Rail Workers
Kang

Vs

Pandora
Kade
2 Sorrows
1 Stitched
Sue
Perdita
Francisco
Santiago
Nino
Watcher...

Nino sniped a few things, but Misaki was in my face so quickly that the whole clan had to turn and concentrate on her...

Not a bad crew, just didn't have the backup I needed :(

I just posted up a quick Bat Rep with Mei Feng (Link in Sig) Although I lost the game as we had to call end of turn 5 since I am not currently at home and needed to catch a train back to my hotel but I think if it went to turn 6 I think I may have been able to swing a win.

All in all she is a really good master, although a lot of her tricks and abilities and triggers are tough to get my head around at the moment, maybe due to a language barrier

I'd say that Collette would probably be right up your alley. Fast (as in really fast... really, really, really fast), small crew (usually the core of her crew will consist of her, a totem, and 3 other models) and with enough tricks to frustrate any opponent you might come accross. Haven't tried Mei Feng, but she looks pretty cool

I played Mei Feng yesterday. The box is a good start. I'd recommend Willie in addition. I used the archers, and they were a great addition. Plus, she is an Archanist, and likes stuff from Ramos crew. There is a some decent cross-over between them. Willie works for Archanists. Unfortunately, the archers would be for her 10t side only. (I ran her as 10T). My initial crew came from her box, and I added Willie. That way, if you want to try Ramos later, there is some cross-over. Actually, the Rail Golem is a good addition, as well.
