If Sammuel is riding in his landspeeder and it gets assaulted, can he fight like a biker would? And if the landspeeder becomes immobilized or wrecked, can he get out, assuming the usual stuff regarding getting out of wrecked/blown up vehicles? Seems to be rare case where a landspeeder has a designated passenger, I think.

Sammael does not have permission to fight from his landspeeder. If it gets wrecked, he dies.

I'm pretty sure that's why no one uses Sam in his speeder. He would go from a4 wound model to two.

That and he looses out on the ability to drop plasma into a unit before assaulting.

He only has 3W on the jetbike.

To avoid *any* confusion - if you take Sammael in the Land Speeder, use the rules and profile in the boxout for it on page 58, and ignore *EVERYTHING* else on that page, including the previous unit type, wargear and special rules. The new unit type in particular then informs you per normal rules that he cannot fight in close combat (and also no longer has a suitable profile for it).
As for page 59, the Night Halo is the only relic that still applies, and that very specifically states its effect on the Land Speeder.

...if in doubt rules-wise - try to forget that the jetbike was ever even an option.

Thanks for the viewpoints. Re-reading the profile, I see how it plays. I'm building a righteous Landspeeder for him and was working on pose for Sam in the Landspeeder. Using the Storm Speeder model to represent the robust profile. I've been using a regular speeder, but the Storm Speeder is a too beautiful a chassis to not be using in a Dark Angel contingent.
