It's pretty good. If you liked the Prince of Persia series but don't like Assassin's Creed this game is a pretty good substitute (granted it's no where near as good in the insane acrobatics department). Combat works fun enough though oddly I often got annoyed my platforming was interrupted by random morons with bows and arrows. Jumping around and climbing in the game is pretty fun and there's plenty of collectables and challenges around to give you a reason for it. The story is one of the best I've seen in a video game in a long time to (And by this I mean it's the first I've played in a long time where events didn't feel completely contrived and just an excuse for game play events to occur). Strictly B movie kind of story but a very well done one and Lara Croft's voice actress does an absolutely stellar job.

Haven't touched the multi-player at all thus far.

It looks awesome, but I've kinda stayed back since the trailer (to me) made it look very similar to an Uncharted game. How does it compare to that?

Haven't played Uncharted (a friend of mine says the game takes a lot of ques from it). The best I can say is that it controls a lot like an Assassin's Creed game but without as much mindless repetition or the crappy Lost storyline.

Sounds good to me. I've played through the first three AC games, so I know what you're talking about. Can't wait to try it out now!

I like it so far. Never played Uncharted so can't comment on that, but I prefer this to Far Cry 3. This may of course change if it becomes boring later on.

Good things are good,.. so it's good

I'm about half way through and it's really amazing. It reminds me of a 3rd peson far cry 3. Going to try multiplayer today but I won't hold my breath.

Good to hear, it looks like a good revamping of the series. I'd like to play it someday, when it's cheaper hehe

Tomb Raider is a ton of fun. I'm about a quarter of the way through, and they've really sold me on Lara's character- you really see a human side to the character, in a way very few videogames have presented. I'm about a quarter of the way through, I reckon, and Lara's transitioning from scared and battered survivor into a tough-as-nails badass, not only in the accumulation of better guns and sorta-pointless talents, but also in the character presentation. Gameplay's great, too, though I would have liked to see more optional tombs scattered about. It's not really open world, but it sure feels like it at times. All in all, I'm thoroughly impressed- though honestly, I think this franchise has really been thriving ever since Crystal Dynamics picked it up (Legend).

Though I've never played it due to a lack of a PS3, If this is what the Uncharted series is like, I need to pick up a used PS3 and burn through them next time I take a vacation. Anyone have both games and care to make a comparison?

It turns out I was around 75% done maybe more, but I am very happy with the complete game, I still havent managed to play online but I think its due to the internet connection.

How long does it take roughly to play the game through? Give me a "I played it strait!!!! MT DEW!!!!" and a "I play it when I get home from work" time frames if possible.

It took me 12 hours to play through the storyline at a leisurely pace. EDIT: And I think I only collected about 50-60% of the collectables on the map. Collecting all of them would probably tack on another 3-4 hours of backtracking (random guess)

I didn't check the time but it was probably around 12 hours completing at 74% complete AND going back and completing tombs, relics, and so on.

I'm very happy I red boxed it, glad I didn't buy it considering the replay value is pretty low in my opinion. Didnt get to try multiplayer but I heard nothing good about it anyway.

The lead voice actor sounds so American it's irritating. You'd think a british born American could do a better job of an English accent. To be fair maybe the new lara croft is from America or something. This game looks like alot of fun but just like all modern adventure games it just descends into Queasy Mass Murder within twenty minutes or so. Its basically dead to rights:redemption in terms of brutality and that game KNEW it was hyper-violent shlock.

I'm getting it in a week, trying to stay away from spoilers. This, BIoshock Infinite, and Destiny are the only games that have really peaked my interest so far.

Not sure if all the zoom in's while in an inclosed space are supposed to make me claustrophobic or be fan service....

Sounds good. To be hones,t I never liked the Lara Croft games much, but I might like this one if you guys' reviews are right.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

I find it too quick time eventy, and honestly I'm not sure if Lara is just stupid or I don't have any sort of survival instinct..... I'm only about an hour or so into it though.

I'm more amazed by her being able to jump higher than an antilope and her being almost immune to falling damage...

Yeah, the game definately suffers from Blockbuster syndrome; the gameplay is literally just there to shuffle you between quick time events.

Having said that, these are the only scripted sequences that have actually made me go "Oh poo, Oh poo, Oh Poo!"
