As i´m as poor as a student can be but i like to start a second army i´d like to proxy some IG Infantry. What alternatives are recommendable? If heard of mantics and pig iron already but would like a broader choice.

eBay is a great source of cheap guard. If you can be bothered to strip them, you can get some even cheaper models.

Also being a student isn't an excuse to be poor. There are plenty of part time jobs available...or at least there were when I did my undergrad.
