I don't know if this will ever come up (possibly with Eldar?), but I'm doing some math hammer and just want to include the possibility.

Suppose a unit which has the "Tank Hunters" USR attacks a vehicle with Haywire grenades. Tank Hunters gives them a re-roll on armor penetration, haywire makes the armor penetration roll on a special chart.

Would that unit get to re-roll their armor penetration roles on the Haywire chart?

EDIT : spelling mistakes.

Well you can also get that combo with zandrekh and a stormtek with necrons. Even using the haywire your still rolling armor penetration it jus does this in a special way. So I'd assume you'd still get to reroll it.

Read the Haywire special rule on page 37.

It does not make an actual Armour Penetration roll.

This comes up all the damned time with Necrons. And my understanding is that you do not get to re-roll the effects of the Voltaic Staff; because it is not an armour penetration roll. While you do roll for its effect, and its effects are similar to armour penetration effects, this is not an actual armour penetration roll and therefore Tank Hunters does not apply.

There is a chance to use Tank Hunter with Haywire, but the only time I can think of would be DE Scourges. Their Haywire blaster is S4 Haywire. So against AV10 you could reroll the S4 hits to get glances before rolling the Haywire dice

Haha yep, I guess this totally invalidates anything I said haha "roll a D6 to determine the effect rather than rolling your armour penetration normally"

Guess I should read the rulebook better ;p. the more you know and all that.

Reread the haywire rule. You actually don't roll the weapons strength against the armor to glance/pen, you roll on the table instead.
