Hay forum, i would like to ask this

"Should there be a renegade guard codex"

IMHO there should be, all the novels are filled with guardsmen serving chaos or worshipping genestealers and lots of other stuff.

GW should have just allowed the IG to be battle brothers with CSM and that would be it. The new cultist models can make awesome renegade guard

If they could make it distinct enough from regular guard there should.

There is that old FW list, but it is stupid. Random leadership for units, what the hell is that?

Because during the siege of Vraks, some people were not happy to follow chaos. Its a nice way to represent how they felt.

The IG codex is fine for playing Renegade Guard, and no way should IG & CSM's be battle-brothers!

CSM's have no respect at all for the mases of traitor humans, mutants and other lowly chaos followers. They litterly see them as nothing more than usefull fodder to be thrown at the False-Emperor's lackwit dogs in order to demoralise them/wear them down/soak-up all the bullets!

That doesn't seem very battle-brother'ish to me

Yeah, I can see what they were aiming at, but that utterly killed my interest in that list. I'm okay with army containing both devout fanatics and press-ganged recruits -- but I want to choose which are which, and probably model them accordingly too.

If you are a devout follower Chaos you'l see the Chaos Marines as Champions of Gods. You're happy to be their cannon fodder! Besides, CSM book has normal humans in it anyway.
