Another post, DD is wonderful, and damn, you people are helpful with every single post I make. I appreciate it.
As in the title, I am aiming towards the Mercs as an, (Maybe... thinking about it) And I have zero knowledge on their fluff, but if they do/don't have any, mind giving be a brief, if not, a full description about them? Sadly I don't have the books, but I do plan on getting them, I am just learning here on DD forums, hoping I get little, or plenty of knowledge on WarmaHordes, because I can see that the game just looks fun as hell.

Well, its kinda hard because mercs arent just one faction.
First up, searforge. they're the rhulic military arm who protect their trade convoys, do mercenary work, and fulfill contracts in the iron kingdoms.
highborn covenant. llaelese resistance army. its whats left of the llael army, plus a few cygnaran stragglers left behind in their retreat from the country as khador took over. they'll pretty much contracting theselves now outside of llael seeking funds for la resistance at the moment.
4 star syndicate. a mysterious, probably ordic affiliation. they're crimelords essentially, seeking to profit out of the iron kingdoms blowing themselves apart. they've got no higher purpose beyond making little profits, although sometimes their contracts are written to further their own agenda in the grand scheme of things.
and you've got shae and his gang of pirates. they stole a few ships of the mercarian league, and are living their lives, waging a private war with the league, and contracting themselves out to pay for the party. they've also managed to find the mysterious and until no hidden southern continent of zu.
but yeah, get the books. there is so much more to the various mercenaries contracts and the characters, with their own individual motifavtions (magnus' agenda for one!)

The 4 different contracts are each different factions so to speak. You have the Dwarves, Laelese resistance to the Khadoren occupation, Pirates, and finally the 4-star syndicate who will hire out to anyone with the coin.

The biggest thing about Fluff that i dislike is.
There is Fluff in the MK1 Books.
New Fluff in the MK2 books. and as a result MK1 books arent for sale. (Then again this goes for every game that has a new book)
They add Fluff in every expansion.
For Wrath to Collosals for Warmachine, there is a greater story that involves multi factions.
(Yes.. The fluff moves forward and things in the world changes unlike 40k)
Every expansion book, every army gets new things (IE Warmachine book - all warmachine armies get new stuff and same goes for hordes for their books)
Which means new fluff for everyone.
MK2 Books.
There is the main Rulebook.
Faction Books for every Army.
Wrath - First Warmachine Expansion
Dominion - First Horde Expansion
Collosals - 2nd Warmachine Expansion
Gargs - 2nd Hordes Expansion
???? - 3rd Warmachine Expansion coming at the end of the year it seems.
So you constantly get new models for your army to keep things fresh. And fluff.

Mercenaries aren't the best faction, but they aren't the worst. They can hold their own, but some of their best units are the ones they get from other factions.
Still, the individual characters have some awesome fluff.

Thanks guys, I pretty much made up my mind on which army I will get, but not soon, just in a matter of time. Firstly I decide to go for Khador, 35 points, then after I get started on that army and get through the hobby, my second army will be Mercs. And it may be a good opinion, since Mercs can just join factions, such as Khador. But in time, going to observe the tournaments more and learn.
