So I have army ADD and am considering Lizardmen. Is the Battalion box a good purchase? I have a little money to spend from my tax return and might pick up two of them.

Of course it goes without saying get the army book first. As for the purchase of both of the Battalion boxes, I would say go for it since it can make a horde of 40 Saurus, either a unit of Skink Skirmishers (Or Skinks if you can convert it a bit), good amount of Temple Guard, also Cold one Calvary. Plus if you are skilled with Kitbashing and Converting, you can make a Hero/Lord Saurus and Possibly a Skink Chief/ Priest out of the boxes as well.

wondering what the army ADD has to do w/ it... ...unless are you considering waiting for the rumored Lizardmen update later this year and just can't wait due to the ADD? ...or would that be OCD?

currently playing: ASoIaF | Warhammer 40k: Kill Team

other favorites:
FO:WW | RUMBLESLAM | WarmaHordes | Carnevale | Infinity | Warcry | Wrath of Kings

ADD generally means you can't stay focused. OCD would be like if he kept organizing the same army even though it was already organized.

I say hold off on Liz until the new one. I suspect a fair amount of changes. At least rules-wise. Maybe not models.

I'd say go for it, since they way they are re-doing the battalions/battleforces lately, you'd probably be getting less for your money if you wait until the new army book.

The Lizardmen battallion one of the absolute best deals amongst all battallions for what you get. I would reccomemd it. Lizardmen are also a top tier army, and even broken. They have the best casters in the game, some of the best skirmishers and one of the best monsters in the game, as well as army special rules that can win games alone.

The battallion box will be a good deal and a quick start to a Lizardmen army. Eventually, investing in two will pretty much set you for a solid army, save the Slann.

Waiting would be good. But I would still suggest getting one before the price goes up and model count goes down.

I have a tough time seeing stegadons as being one of the best monsters with all these 8th monsters released. The WoC book alone is pretty scary.

Oh yeah I suppose so, in comparison to the 8th books. Still though, the Stegadon is really good, especially when thete is two and one has a Slann atop it. There are plenty of tough monsters in all the new books though, which I kind of like actually. More diversity and options. I will be interested to see what new monsters the Lizardmen get, if any.

Stegs are good but they are no where near the best monsters in the game they are great fun however.

8000 Dark Angels (No primaris)
10000 Lizardmen (Fantasy I miss you)
3000 High Elves
4000 Kel'shan Ta'u

New army book is rumored to come out soon(ish), after HE apparently, unless you're in a hurry to play just start stocking up on saurus and skinks as the army will allways have lots of core in it.

With that said stegs are pretty good since they have stubborn, a rare traint among recent monsters. And i myself own 4 of them.
