So, after hearing great things about the balance in these games I think I'll officially be a new convert (coming from GW) and get myself a Hordes army. Now the question is, which one? I would prefer to stick to Hordes as I like the models and the fury mechanic a bit more, but I'd consider Warmachine armies. Now about my playstyle I like fast moving, ranged armies, think Tau in 40k or Wood Elves in WFB. Is there something like that in Hordes or Warmachine? I guess a skirmish type force.

Legion of Everblight. I don't play them myself, but they are a fairly quick army. Circle of Orboros is also quick, but more melee oriented.

Thank you sir. I love the Everblight warbeasts in terms of looks. Their units are a bit meh to me though. Although I do like their war spears, and the idea of hitting dudes in faces with flying spears appeals to me.

My pleasure! Check out Balltecollege for more info on them, it'll give you an idea of how they work. I'm sure someone with more knowledge on them will arrive to help you soon!

The Elves look more like goblins, their leader is a dragon-possessed ogre who grew wings (and promptly ate another dragon). They fight with primitive bows and swords but wield scary magic and breed dragon blood spawned monsters that are a cross between sharks-on-land and a dinosaur. They play by their own rules (ignore terrain, LOS etc), and hope to eat the souls of all the other dragon-gods. Lots of female characters ranging from weird deformed mutants to bow hunters to ninjas to sorceresses. overall they're fast and tend to be the most beast-heavy faction. definately a hit and run/glass cannon faction that focuses purely on assassination and "killing the other guy" as opposed to grabbing objectives and playing the attrition game.

I"ll second legion. They're pretty fast across the board and can field some really strong shooting elements. Raptors are probably the best mobile shooting in the game.

They've also got a really good melee game if you feel like a change of pace or ust don't want to commit to a full gunline list.

Do you like the idea of a twisted female elf riding on a sleigh pulled by murderous reindeer? If so then legion is the army for you!

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Lol well I admit that is a huge incentive. Lol after looking it over I think I will go Legion. I even put up an initial list in the Army lists section... assuming people don't tell me it's a crappy list, those will probably be the first models I buy.

You definitely sound like you like Legion's playstyle.

However, I also say - change it up! Try something new! Even within a given army, there are way more units than, say, a Warhammer 40,000 army list. (Except for those stupid Space Marines! Grr!)

Other armies can be played as fast-moving and shooty as well with the right warcaster or warlock. Everblight definitely does a good job!

Believe it or not, by the way, Khador has some awesome shooty ablities too - though I wouldn't call them fast...

I think I'll take your advice. As I mentioned in another thread I have a few friends who have been trying to get me to play, and between them they have just about every force save for Trollbloods. Maybe we'll make a day of me trying out different forces in small point games.

I suggest Circle but I want to give a special shout out to Cygnar using Kraye as your leader

He essentially gives your army the infamous Tau's jsj
