I don't know about H-town itself, but there used to be a big community at the Hobbytown USA in Frederick. There is a lot the closer you get to Baltimore, but that is about an hour ride for you.

Yeah I used to live in Baltimore (Towson) and I've gone down to Glen Burnie a few times to play and it's great, but ~1 1/2 hours. I heard Hobbytown in Frederick had tables but didn't know if people actually came in and played often. Any contact/ideas of how to reach people in that circle?

Give the Hobbytown a call. A few years ago I went to a tourny there and they were really nice and helpful over the phone.

If you don't mind going to Martinsburg WV, which is not far, there is a store there called Your Hobby Place. Nice store with plenty of space to play. The main GW days are Wed and sat.
