i am workin on a Heresy era Emperor's Children army. i already have a 30 tactical marines, one of which is converted to represent Lucius the Swordsman (i shaved and shaped the swords that come with the khorne berzerkers so they are sharp, and GS'd the hair). but now i am working on 10 assault marines. this is where i have my opinion request. i am using the Assault marine chests arms and heads, using 5 of each of the maxmini bronze and Iron Jump packs, the Anvil Industry Medieval running legs and Renaissance Pauldrons. what would any of you in DakkaDakka land suggest i do different, or any alternate combinations of parts? i intend to do another 10 assault marines, and a full squad of chapterhouse Jetbikes(i have one of the Pilum Jetbikes already- would be the SGT model)

It sounds to me like a winning combo. Please do post some WIP of the models you do get assembled. you really never know how good something truly looks until you give it a go.

well, i got the torsos, arms, and jump packs, just waiting on the legs and pauldrons. those will be in within the week... takes 1-2 weeks to get to me.

well, after a week or so of waiting, then painting/assembling, here are some highlights of the Assault Squad.

The paint looks very thick. Try thinning it down with some water before applying it. Could also use a wash to hit some of the recesses. It is a good color scheme though.

even watering the paints down, the paint still thickens up severely where i am at, already, it is hitting 95 + degrees in north western AZ... i have to recap and hydrate my paints after each model now. :-/
