Okay, I've decided I want to spray my nids in a quick fashion to get them painted up.
I want to know if anyone has any experience with spraypaints like the one I am going to link here.
The paints are acrylic laquers.
If i was to prime the models with:
http://www.londongraphics.co.uk/products/Art-Supplies/Spray-Paint/Montana-GOLD-Primers-and-Varnishes/T2000_Montana-Gold-400ml-Plastic-Primer
Then spray the nids with this:
http://www.londongraphics.co.uk/products/Art-Supplies/Spray-Paint/Montana-GOLD-Spray-Paint/S9110_Montana-Gold-400ml-Shock-White-Cr%c3%a8me
To get the cream/bone looking colour. (and add a brown wash over them)
Paint the carapace red. Done.
Do you think I will be able to paint over these spray paints or would they not work? Does anyone have ANY experience with similar paints that can help me. Please warn me away if they are going to ruin the models.
I'm going to london this weekend so I can pick these two up for about £10ish, maybe a few more for my CSM vehicles.
Here is the range of colours available:

I've done a similar thing with Rustoleum Almond. You'll have to experiement a bit as different sprays take washes differently. Some will cause the wash to bead off, others take it ok. I would also suggest that you basecoat your cream color, do the red carapace, and then wash with your brown. This will give you a chance to correct any over paint (find what color best matches the cream) and the brown was will shade the red nicely as well.
Worst case, try it out on a little termagant as a test figure and if it doesn't work, you're out 12 GBP.

Sounds about right, I'll give it a go over the weekend and let you know. I just hope they take GW's paints afterwards.
Seems promising enough to me though.
Oh, I looked for Rustoleum Almond but I can't seem to get it anywhere in the UK. White and black pops up now and again... I just imagine they don't import the aerosol cans.

your welcome.. that way you don't have to gamble with your minis and you can spray them how ever you like.... no reason to not have an airbrush anymore lol. + they don't come out as chorky and stuff as a spray can enjoy.

unless you can find a high quality spray i wouldnt do it. I used it on a battlewagon since i didnt have an airbrush and i'd rather go through the asspain of handpainting or just buckle down and get an airbrush than use spraypaint again. Its just too thick, and makes a mess around your target (left green spots on the sidewalk despite being in a box lol)

Montana Gold is high quality spray paint. How well-suited it is to the intended task is another matter, though, and one that I'm not sufficiently experienced to comment on. I will say, though, that as long as it goes on thin and smooth, you can use it. Even if it ends up too glossy to take subsequent painting by brush (need at least a bit of tooth, lest the paint just bead up and run everywhere), you can always give the model a dusting of matte varnish to prep the surface for the acrylics without expending much effort or drastically changing the finish (can always reapply gloss over the top if you want to shine it back up).
