I thought this might be a cool thing to add to the own backstory of my archon, ruling entire systems and the populous of the worlds seeing him as a god. The archon might take sacrifices, and transport them to the w-way, where he could torture them at his will. Would this be an acceptable backstory? In my backstory, the planets where left undiscovered after the end of the great crusade due to the HH. The primitive worlds ( somewhat like ancient Egypt) lacked any weapon technology beyond that of bows and swords.

"Archon Yulliptidon sat apon a throne made of polished glass, which gleamed with magnificence in the rays of the dying suns, beautifully suspended above the the many razor sharp peaks that where Commorragh. The archon held within his hands a a delicate pyramid of sculpted crystal, from which emitted a faint glow, an echo of the soundless screams of pain belonging to countless tortured souls forever trapped within. The room in which the archon sat in was something like a throne room, but displayed apon the walls where helm of every color, but all the same in size and shape. Some bore eagles on their foreheads, and others still contained the decapitated heads of their previous owners. Two huge, beautifully carved iron double doors, engraved with intricate runes of pain and suffering, opened at the far end of the room, to reveal a tall, elegant dark eldar warrior, clad in armor made from bone and flesh. "lord Yulliptidon, you asked for my presence?" Said the arrival, " to what do I owe the pleasure?". The archon raised his elongated head, skin as pale as a full moon, eyes as vivid as a horrible nightmare. " I did not ask for you, Thrayon, I ordered your presence. Do not think to much for your self, for truly, you are not much past a feral that one would find on the streets. As for why I have ordered you to my palace, it is because their is a task that I wish you to preform. I wish you and you kabal to cleanse the imperial out fort of Sargosain Gastienagan." Thrayon was both aghast and interested at what the archon had just said. "Such a task would stretch my kabal to its limits, only a great reward would be enough to do a deed like this." Yulliptidon was outraged by the the proposal of a "great reward" by Thrayon, but did not let his anger show, hiding it with a cold smile that hid his evil intentions surprisingly well. The archon was was famous for never telling a lie in his life, but was very fond of veiled double speak, and this was no exception. "Do not worry, Thrayon, you shall receive what you deserve." Thrayon, happy with this outcome, left to carry out Yulliptidons task. Little did he know what was coming. Thrayon had done a thousand evil deeds, and what he deserved was a horrible death equal to to all those he had caused. Yulliptidons smiled. He was going to have fun."

Sure, thats exactly what I would expect a self-absorbed power hungry Archon to do.

He could organize massive planet wide gladiatorial games for him and his lackies to watch.

The worlds would have to be relativly primative so their weapons would seem to be godlike.

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

Just don't expect him not to actually think himself a god. He is an eldar after all.

Oh and if he has to fight a defensive battle...er, strike that he will never fight a defensive battle unless trapped. He might send thousands of his "followers" to do it for him using rocks and sticks though. (cool allies army there; dark eldar with chenkov/send in the next wave conscripts)

Yeah, I can see that. He would probably have lots of laughs with his "mon-kheigs" worshippers. Death games, torture, sacrifices, everything a dark eldar would want. It would probably be just one big barrel of laughs for him.

Actually, dark eldar having fun with a particular group of humans isn't that uncommon. The humans in Nocturne pre-HH, before the Emprah, had their share of problems with DE (Dusk Wraiths, they called them).

Wasn't there a similar story to this in a collection of Heresy short stories? The Space Wolves were there to secure compliance when they uncovered the tradition that the planet's rulers had to pay tribute to Dark Eldar raiders by leaving out people to be taken away.

While he no doubt would find the power trip exhilarating he's also an Archon and as such should know there are things out there that make a mockery of his godlike status. But appearing godlike to the primitives is easy. Incredible weapons, flying skyships, strange and terrible powers... And with the right deposit at your friendly neighborhood haemonculus the Archon can even return from the dead should the masses revolt and tear him to pieces!

Sure sounds sadistic enough for an Archon to do.. Establishing himself as a god maybe not, but certainly as the supreme ruler of that world! He might even say he is favoured by some sort of god/being...

One note of caution I have. Is that would he deem himself too superior for it.

Mercillessly tormenting the subjects who fear his wrath and pay tribute, sure no problem.
Acting as a god to the populace is different. Its likely he sees them as vermin. To act as their spirtual master benevolent or cruel, probably marks himself out as king of the cockroaches in the halls of commoragh.

Agreed. I think the only power and influence that matters to an Archon is power and influence in Commorragh. Setting up shop outside of the Dark City seems a tacit admission of weakness.
