Hiya im pretty new to the hobby and my local GW runs 750 40k/fantasy games every friday so I am interested in making a list for this. Firstly I'd like to know if bikers would be a good idea as the 750 pt tables are just the regular sized tables sliced into thirds and played from the far end (so very narrow deployment zone), and there is usually a fair bit of terrain blocking off at least one of the flanks.

Secondly I'd like to know if there's a space marine chapter (Other then the White Scars and their descendants) that are known for using bikes. And thirdly here is what I have as a rough army list and i much appreciate suggestions. This is more of a fun army then competative army. I have not been to the GW a lot but there are mostly marine players from what I see and some fellow brought along a stormtalon so maybe I need an Aegis? Who knows.

HQ:
Space Marine Captain w/ bike. Artificier, TH/SS. 195 pts

Troops:
8x bikes w/ 2 plasma + melta bombs. 250 pts

Fast Attack:
3x assault bikes w/ 3 multi-melta. 150 pts

Heavy assault:
5x devestators w/ 4 missile launchers, melta bombs. 155 pts. Honestly I'd prefer to take a thunderfire cannon but that thing is almost literally twice the cost of a squad of devestators (at least here in australia).

Total= 750 pts.

I believe the red Templars use bikes as do the Dark angles but they have a separate codex.

Also you only have 1 troop choice, unless where you are playing they don't use the FOC you will need 2 troops minimum, apart from that the list seems like it could go alright given you maneuver the bikes right and take advantage of cover

Yes sorry I forgot to mention we are only required 1 troop choice for this particular league, however I would be interested in hearing a biker list with 2 troop choices at 750; I don't think there is any that would have enough firepower to deal with hordes?

ravenwing dark angels are all about bikes as troops, but i'm not sure how effective it would be at that points level...black nights are nasty though, TL 18" range plasma on a bike...makes my ork bikers jealous

A small, damp hole somewhere in England

I'd suggest reducing the attack bikes to two (or 2x1 if you can take two FA slots), and putting the last in the bikers. This will allow you to combat-squad them, giving you two scoring troops units rather than one, and more flexibility.
