Does this have any effect on the new daemons? We had an arguement that this didn't have anything to effect daemons. I know they no longer have fearless but are they still subject to the morale check? I'm not sure of the iteraction of this power and daemons.

Edit: Changed title and added content to post.

Went over this in my last game and I believe they do not ( I don't have a codex in front of me so this has a good possibility of being incorrect.) I believe in the rules it states when a daemon would take a moral check it instead rolls on the instability chart.

Can anyone with a codex confirm/deny this?

Daemonic Instability makes models auto-pass a variety of checks. Read the rule (in the first paragraph) to see what those are.

So do greater daemons have DI? If not what happens to them if they are hit with terrify?

Every model in the codex, except vehicles have DI

So i believe that they would be immune to terrify. Unless I'm missing something

Daemons are not immune to Terrify.

Terrify does 3 things:

1. Removes Fearless - Daemons don't have it so this part does nothing.
2. Make a Morale check - Daemons auto-pass these. This is not some immunity, they just automatically pass.
3. Makes the unit count everything else as having Fear. This works completely on Daemons.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Both players should be using the least durable units possible, with the house rule that all players remove an article of clothing every time you lose a unit, and take a drink every time you kill one of your opponent's units.
I have no idea which army will be triumphant, but I can assure you that everyone wins.

The only thing terrify does to daemons is force them to roll a deny the witch die, and that result doesn't mater as talked about above.

It still works on them, they just automatically pass the test.

As well they should. If you are planning on using psychic powers on daemons' i'd suggest 'null zone' instead. Much more effective at inspiring fear amongst daemon players.

Misfortune works wonders on ANY unit.

I hate seeing Divination psykers opposite my Army. I get nervous when they roll for powers.
