Quick question/clarification for you all:

Reading the Dark Eldar Codex in the entry for Kabalite Warriors, I can 1) equip a Kabalite Warrior with a Splinter Cannon, and 2) upgrade him to a Sabarite. Is this correct? Or is there some ruling/clarification I'm not aware of?

If the codex says "a Warrior may take" then you cannot upgrade that Warrior to a Sybarite, the SC would be an invalid selection. If the codex says "a model may take" then the Sybarite can take the SC.

I'm almost positive it will be the former. GW doesn't like characters with heavy weapons, it makes them psuedo-snipers with overly powerful guns

No you can't do that.

If you give a model any options that are only granted to a specific model type e.g: "one Kabalite Warrior may..." then he has to remain that model type or else he becomes an illegal choice.
