So I have always been interested in starting an Empire army, especially seeing as how the 8th Edition army book of theirs can be very competitve. I really like most of the models, but the State Troops, Archers, and Handgunners really bother me.

But, I also found not too long ago, the Warlord Games range of miniatures and was very impressed and interested. I looked at a lot of the Celts, Vikings, Irish and Highlanders, as well as the Germanics. And I really like all of them! Now my problem is what to choose and if it would work. I am pretty sure their size is not an issue, and I am leaning more towards the Irish and Highlander models, some are metal, but still markedly cheaper than those of gw, and very cool! I think it would be really awesome to have an army of hearty highlander coast folk, armed with great pikes, axes and muskets! I also am considering the War of Roses models, as they are very fitting to the Empire's style, and still awesome.

So let me know what you think, and how well it'd work out, if it could. All comments welcome!

Well alright then! And if anyone has used Warlord models before, or have seen them used, I would very much like some feedback.
