So I working on this already, but I'm working on making a lord on a dragon for my
WoC army.
GW doesn't make a model for it, and the only chaos dragon they make is Galrauch. I don't like to use Special Character models for anything other than the Special Character, so I did a bit of thinking and discussing with everyone, and this is the plan: Take the high elf dragon, split the neck out, use both the heads,
de-elf the armor, add chains/iconography where available, and then mount it to one of the
40k flying stands. The real difficulty here for me is the plastic bending (never done it before) and the
GS work that will be needed on the neck (or in general to enhance scales, etc.). Finally, I'm going to figure out another, non-Chaos army to hopefully buy a few models from people here to add for flavor. I intend on one of the dragon's heads to be eating one, with maybe another in the rear claws, one on the base running on (dark) fire, and one on the base standing surrounded in a cloud of poison. For the lord himself, I'm using the Chaos Lord that stands on the rock, removing it from the rock and pinning his feet and making it so he stands on the broken/cut part of the "throne" seat from the dragon's days as a HE dragon.
Progress so far:
Neck bent and "throne" seat is broken.
I also bent the tail up a little for a better angle.
The lord rides the dragon in only the most appropriate of ways.
He also comes off and goes on a base mount in the event something manages to kill him or the dragon.
Started building up some
GS between the necks.
Fixed some scaling lost due to accidental excess heat.
Started smoothing out some of the armor, may bulk up a little more later.
