If my gang boss is equipped with knife (free), lasgun and chainsword, kan he get +1a for having two close combat weapons, or is the lasgun in the way?
In the rules book on gws site, the example gang shown there, the leader is equipped with a sword, even though orlocks cant choose to buy a sword according to their starting weapons stuff, is that a mistake or have i missed something?

my old rulebook (p27) says that:

"the bonus only applies to fighters armed exclusively with pistols and /or hand to hand combat weapons, not to fighters who carry other basic, special or heavy weapons in addition."

Grenades are ok

Thanks for the reply. It seems your rulebook and the one on gws site differs. p27 is advanced rules and falling. But ithe rules should be the same as your rulebook.

Anyone know whats correct about the sword mentioned in my original post?

mine is the really old rulebook - the rules have been updated a bit over the years so its possible they are different.

The example gang may well be an error - are just a reprint from when weapons were generic selections and not dictated by Gang affliation.

My Escher gang always used to have lots of swords

We did not really use them back in the day - it was mostly las weapons and blades with the odd heav y weapon.

My Escher girls had some with lasguns and swords and juve with stub guns and swords. But then we fought agianst zombies alot

Do necromunda use the old sustained fire dice from 2nd edition 40k? the on that has 1,2,3 shots or jam? Or does 2 dice mean you roll 2d3's?

I recommend the website www.yakromunda.com

It has the up to date living rulebook, same as from GW, but also a community rulebook, which I think is an improvement. It also has many other resources.

As for the sword question, you can buy items not on your house list inbetween games by sacraficing a rare trade offer. At least thats in the community rules

As for the bonus attack, it is only if you have exclusively ccw's and/or pistols to get the extra attack. Having a basic, special, or heavy weapon prevents it.

Juves with a hand flamer are cheap and make them very reliable damage dealers. Easier to hit with a template than a BS2 anything

IMNSHO Hand flamers make juves useful. No need to have a high BS to be able to hit the target. Just run up and unleash the flames.

Yeah, I'd recommend Yakromunda. They have PDF's of all of the chapter approved stuff released in 'Necromunda' and 'Gangwar' magazines. Rules updates, new gangs (guilders are really interesting), half a dozen new campaign settings, and about 30 new scenarios.

I've still got the old 'Outlanders' expansion and it states in there that you can buy items that aren't on your gangs basic equipment roster between games (I don't have it on me right at the moment so I can't quote the exact words). So it's completely legal to equip what you want after your first game, as long as your creds are good.

Even better if you use the community rules available on Yakro, the hand flamers don't instantly run out after a single burst. You have to make an ammo role (6+) after every shot instead. So you might get a couple of bursts.

People who say that stories about rogue traders are all just Firefly rip-offs have obviously have never heard of Rogue Trader.
