I just got Death from the Skies for the rules concerning the Ork flyers, but I recall from the White dwarf article that the Grot Gunner special rule allowed one of the flyers weapons to be used on the Grots better ballistic skill than the Ork pilot.
I understand that the WD article was FAQ'ed in favor of the new rules but I don't think it's rather clear how the special rule works as it just says:

Grot Gunner:shots with this weapons are resolved at BS 3.

But it never defines what weapon it is, so does the "what you see is what you get" rule come into play, being that the grot is manning the turret/gun behind the pilot? But doesn't that then let people abuse this rule and model the supa shootas on the grot's turret?

I'm sorry if this was posted somewhere else, I did look for something like this, but all I could find where line of sight problems.

Thanks.

In the WD article it tells you what weapon the grot is firing.

Ahh right, sorry, I was mistaken about the WD article.
I still wish it was clearer in the Death from the Skies book.

Can't argue with you there.... in the update they removed the designation so it is technically it would be whatever you model it as......
