Tau farsight with Phoenix lord

So i dunno know effective this would be but it would probably be fairly fun to try. take commander farsight and a beefy bodyguard unit stick baharroth in the unit to make it feerless and give it hit and run. if i was to run this it would be taking the tau as as allied force possibly with a few tetra to boost the squads fire and some broadsides. what do you think?

Too bad Baharroth sucks bad. You want hit and run, get another HQ with those jet things. Dont pay 200+ points for a few power weapon hits and a load of abilities you wont/carnt use.

Yeah but he gives fearless and will only fail hit and run on a 6. a big fearless crisis mob that can jump in and out of combats sounds gd, without fearless they are likely to loose a couple of models fail ld and get killed off im sure this isnt points effective just a fun combo to try out.

Also bear in mind that Baharroth will limit the Crisis's Jump-Shoot-Jump potential as he cannot make the additional move in the assault phase.

If you want fearless, just take Karandras/Fuegan (the only Phoenix lords who are good). They can tank hits for the other guys in the squad, hit pretty well in CC, and you can get HnR from a Tau HQ slot. You still only fail HnR on a 6, the initiative test is taken on the highest I in the squad.

But farsight also only fails on a 6 and if you can hit and run you don't need fearless.

Farsight cant take Hit and run tho I thought only models with hit and run could take the test.

If you want eldar allies for farsight, take a pimped jetseer instead. A jetseer will not limit your movement like a phoenix lord will, and can buff the whole squad.

Or you could skip the overpriced bodyguard trash and throw farsight in with somthing that is good at melee. He'd rock in a harliestar or seer council! Hell throw em in with shining spears and a jetseer and TEAR IT UP! Theres a lot of great options for Farsight if you drop the crappy crisis bodyguard.

Put Farsight in a squad of XV'9s who do have hit and run (vectored retro) unless your really against using forgeworld these guys are T5 with some seriously impressive guns. You loose the farsight blob but can take 3 XV9's with Fusion Cascades for a potential 18 S6 melta shots, T5 and up to 8 shield drones
