Hi Dakka,

I'm a fairly new painter and for the most part use an airbrush to do my basecoats. Now, in some instances i will need to do multiple colors, so i can only base coat the mini in one color and say for the robes of Belial i will need to do a dark green.

Freehand is evil. Whenever i do it it just looks botchy and obviously if i layer it on top then it looks worse... What am i doing wrong? Am i not thinning the paint enough, thinning it too much? I generally stroke in one direction (That's what she said.) to avoid this but it still happens!

Crap i forgot to mention, i use Vallejo Model Color paints.

Could you maybe post picture of your problem?

If it is a problem with thin paint then just try doing a few more coats over the the area till you achieve the desired look. But again pics would helpful.

Also if you need a thread moved to the correct forum either PM a Mod or hit the little yellow triangle at the top right of your post and let them know that way.
