Here are a bunch of great articles that should help, broken down by type of airbrush you may have.
Hope this helps.

I had to dismantle my Omni 5000 and clean it with a pipe cleaner and some chemicals (forget which one - it's at home on my desk that's how often I gunk the thing up).

Using Inks and Washes

Are you talking about some paint solidified around the needle? Or the stuff around the top of the cup?
If it's the needle, you will either have to carefully dismantle to prevent damage to the tip, or you may get away with filling the cup with "Fairy Powerspray" and leaving it a couple of hours. Pour the liquid into a clean glass dish (Some desserts come in them!), and inspect the problem area. If possible, give it a go with the old head on an electric toothbrush - actually use the toothbrush with the head and power on, not just the head on its own, in your hand. If it requires more then you can pour the powerspray liquid back into the cup and add more fresh powerspray as required. It may be necessary to work the needle a little as the stuff does its work, you shouldn't need a lot of pressure, just try and rock it back and forth a little to help the liquid get into the paint around the needle and soften it up.
Other than that, a soak in Badger "Spray Away", Aztec Airbrush Cleaner, or the appropriate thinners for the paint that is stuck in there. Although I believe the Powerspray will see you through.
Once you have got the needle moving freely, inspect the tip for damage. If there is none, carefully remove it and store it so it can not get damaged. If there is, you will probably have to replace needle and tip anyway. Straighten the needle as best you can to facilitate removal and dispose of it, it won't be much help from now on.
With the needle out, soak the body and cup in Powerspray / Airbrush Cleaner / thinner untill all the paint has gone. Again, I believe Powerspray (if you can get it) will be the best bet. Use the brush to help things along. Once everything is clean you should be OK to rinse it well and re-assemble.
If it's the stuff around the cup of your brush, that looks like a little thinner and an old manual toothbrush will do the trick there, just take care to remove all the residue from the cup otherwise you'll have some of it jamming the needle later.
Hope you get the advice you need and are up and running again soon.
Gary.

"Ask ten different scientists about the environment, population control, genetics, and you'll get ten different answers, but there's one thing every scientist on the planet agrees on. Whether it happens in a hundred years or a thousand years or a million years, eventually our Sun will grow cold and go out. When that happens, it won't just take us. It'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-Tzu, and Einstein, and Morobuto, and Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes…then all of this…all of this…was for nothing. Unless we go to the stars."
