I'm just planning kit bashing 2 captain together for my Blood Angel army and am undecided on which weapons he should have, one will be with a jet pack, the other without.
What do you have on your Captain or how would you have you captain?

I would probably go artificer, ss/th on the jump pack. That or go with a fist or maybe an axe. Depends on what you want him for. Not too sure on the other. You could also do fist/claw on the jumper since you already have the iron halo for a 4++

I'd almost certainly throw him on a bike. TL bolter and T5, along with incredible movement and unlocking bikers as troops. For (iirc) 35pts is a steal.
Then probably stick a powerfist or relic blade on him and call it a day.

Use a Thunderhammer for ST8, concussive or twin lightning claws to capitalize on I5. I consider artificer armor mandatory for a captain. My favorite loadout is artificer armor, thunder hammer, storm shield and bike but he'd be just as good with a jump pack in a BA army.

Thanks guys, a factor for me also is how the model looks combined with ability, listening to the advice I'm going for:
Jump Pack, artficer armor and twin lightning claws.
Normal, Articer armour, power sword, combi melta.
Any ideas on where to get a right power claw? also what do we think? or any other ideas

The problem with lightning claws is that to have any chance in a challenge, you need ap2. A terminator sergeant with a power axe has a good chance of mulching your oh-so-precious captain as your ap3 bounce off 2+ armour. Not to mention all the ICs out there with 2+ armour.

I put him on a bike with a Relic Blade, Artificer Armour, Digital Weapons and Melta bombs.
Just finished a game an hour ago against Necrons and he destoyed!!!!!!
Run him around on his own targeting troops, stay away from IC and strong HQs

Slight problem - it's Blood Angels. Unfortunately we can't take Artificer Armour on our Captains (a woeful oversight if you ask me).
We're also lacking a Relic Blade. If you're adamant on still running with a Captain, there are two ways to do it well:
Cheap-as-chips - default options with perhaps a power weapon at most, in order to squeeze more points for the rest of the list.
Over-the-top - either jump pack and PF+LC to have the option of which weapon and +1 Attack, or Termie TH/SS to be hard as nails.

Oh I didn't see OP said BA. Just read the title, my bad.
IMO don't touch the captain (Librarians are far superior), or as Super Ready said TDA, TH/SS would be an adequate choice.

I had just checked the codex and wondered where the artificer/relic was!
I currently run with a libby for my HQ so may do one with a jump pack as well.
probabily still do a couple varients of captains for painting.
