Totally noob, just building my Necron army and need advice. Since I can not magnatize them, what is the best weapon of choice building the Necron Tomb Blades?
Thanks

I think it is most commonly run with the small blast template - Particle Beamer if I'm correct.
You've got a lot of easier ways to get Gauss/Tesla weapons like that - they are the same guns that the Immortals carry whereas the Beamer isn't something you get much access to. Necron also don't have too many options as far as templates go in comparison to some other armies.
I personally choose not to use the Tomb Blades but don't let me discredit them - use what you like and what fits your playstyle.

Particle Beamer gives you an option you dont already have with Immortals. Dont forget to take Shadowlooms for the 4+/3+ turbo cover. The Shield vanes are personal choice as the bikes are already T5.

Particle beamer is a nice option that is tough to get elsewhere, however any time you can take TL Tesla, it's going to be your best option. Being able to re-roll (particularly during snapfire) is a huge boon.
11.0% chance of zero hits after re-rolls.
66.7% chance for one hit after re-rolls.
22.3% chance for three hits after re-rolls.
=1.34 hits per shot, on average; or 4 hits on 3 shots for the cheapest gun option.

I thought we already covered this in the tactica thread, but here goes again-
• Take Beamer + Scopes for accurate small blasts.
• If you take Tesla, do NOT give them Scopes, as every miss is another chance to roll a 6. (same for if you give them Gauss with the intention of having them harass vehicles... though, there are better options for anti-AV in the codex, so it's probably best not to use Tomb Blades for this).
• Give them Shields if you expect high volume of AP4 or more fire (eg. massed bolters).
• Give them Shadow Looms if you expect problems from AP1/2/3 weapons.

That's a pretty good summary. I liked them with Shadowlooms and Tesla and 5th. Haven't used them nearly as much in 6th though.

I use them with Gauss as fast alpha-strike anti tank.
They work quite well for that.
I have tesla in large quantities elsewhere in my army.

I do exactly the same,..
In my last game with these guys;
3 Of these guys took out a Leman russ and a Sentinel before death took them.. (granted, i was somewhat lucky with rolls)
But since scarabs/destroyers and wraiths take up my FA slot most of the time,.. these guys dont get much showtime.

I will typically run mine opposite of my destroyers and wraiths as I have shelved my scarabs since 6th Ed. in favor of more shooty types. Putting twin linked gause gives you that extra edge especially with the scope and the shield vane provides enough protection to usually do just enough damage that enemies will freak when their armor goes "Boom!" but some naysayers will give you crap about them but I have found them to be quite fun and frustrating to my enemies.

increasing the BS of twin linked Gauss actually decreases their effectiveness, if you're using them to threaten vehicles (you want to roll those 6s so you can glance. If you hit without a 6, the shot is usually wasted. If you miss, you can reroll, so have a better chance of rolling a 6).

I think the best use of Tomb Blades is for something you don't have enough of in your army.
Tesla spam? Give Tomb Blades Gauss.
Gauss spam? Give Tomb Blades Tesla.
Facing hordes? Give Tomb Blades Beamers.

Eh, you are mixing up gauss and tesla. Gauss doesn't do anything special on 6s to hit. It's 6s on the armor penetration roll. You want as many hits as possible to increase the chance to get 6s on the following AP roll so a scope is just fine on twin-linked gauss.

I like them cheap. I had modeled mine Gauss but changed them to Tesla after fielding them. The Tesla is nice for they can constantly put extra wounds were you need them while staying out of charge range.
The particle beamer is a great option and one of our few ways to get so many high strength blasts. My worry of fielding them is that they suddenly become a higher threat and any focussed firepower will quickly down them.
Edit:
I've had surprising success charging them into certain targets like lootas. (They once killed 3 nurgle spawn on the charge) Don't forget they are great for line breaker.

I run mine in 5 man units with Particle Beamers and Nebuloscopes for the accurate blasts. If i have a spare 50 points I will add shield vanes for survivability, but I have found a destroyer lord with Sempiternal Weave and Res Orb leading the squad tanks quite well for them as an alternative. In addition I can look out sir any AP 2 shots for a 5+ cover followed by a 4+ RP roll.
Oh, did I mention that a Destroyer lord gives them preferred enemy? Not really helpful for any of their to-hit weapons (since all are twin linked or blast) but it's devastation when rolling to wound with s6 blasts. It's a very solid combo and the majority T5 keeps the destroyer lord from taking fewer wounds as compared to him leading a wraith squad. Also he adds some CC punch to the unit should anybody stray close and think about getting them into melee, or he can break off on his own or tag-along with wraiths if needed later on in the game.
Overall i feel that this is a very strong combo and probably the most optimal way to run tomb blades.
