Which of these tyranid conversions look better? The blue is a plastic genestealer with greenstuff, the black is the old school guant with genestealer arms and greenstuff....

Blue ones might look better if pained black, but I prefer the black one.

The black one is clearly a display model, while the blue ones are gaming pieces.

From an aesthetic point of view, the black one is superior. If you're going to make lots of them for an army, though, I'd go with plan Blue.

And what do you think of this genestealer with bloodletter head?

The black one still.

Black is the better scheme as well.

And that bloodletter head is nice too.

The black ones are closer to the original aesthetic, with only the 2 arms. Although you could easily trim off the extra genestealer arms. Alternatively it would let you distinguish between different strains if you wanted to run gaunts and stealers in a force.

The bloodletter head looks ok, but part of the menace of Giger's alien design is the blank "face"and lack of obvious features on the armoured carapace

Black ones look amazing.

I ran into a force of Genestealers converted to look like Xenoporphs. all his army was was Genestealers, Deathleaper, and the swarm lord..

he played them with half outflanking, so turn two and my small mech force was surrounded by so many Aliens. It was terrifying.

I think I will make 1 of each as a test model. I am leaning toward old hormagaunts though...
