in my opinion the new demon book... kinda nerfed everything, but made it dirt cheap, they also boosted some things but, not alot but daemons being one of my favorite factions, im making the list to see how people think

( blood crushers have a 6+ armor save... when the whole book has a 5++ wtf )

HQ

Skarbrand ( 225 ) this big bad cc monster will help the blood letters because he gives ( everyone in 12 inch ) rage and hate to them

x2 heald of khorne ( 85, lesser reward ( to get axe ) and locus of fury ) this is to support to blood letters to give them rage

herald of tzeentch ( 70, locus of conjuration ) this is to get divination for reroll to hit and the +1 st

TROOPS

x2 20 blood letters ( 200 ) this in my opinon is the best troop choice, because tzeech are to unpredictible, nurgle cant fight and doesn't have fnp or T 5, slaanesh cant really kill models unless you get lucky and rend, and how often does that happen, blood letters are all power weapons and on the charge will have +2 attack reroll ( within skarbrand ) to hit and ST 5 so they are kinda the best

20 pink horrors ( 185, iridescent ) these when they work, they work really well, with herald and 20 ( or 16 ) 4d6 ST 6 ap 4 shots at 24 inches, with reroll to hit, its alot of hoops to go through but, when it works, it really really works, and the character upgrade is to the other points and to accept the challenge instead of the herald

ELITES

x3 flamers of tzeech ( 69 lol ) where horrors can be unreliable, these are. because its 3 templates of ST 4 and ap 4, they also jump infantry, so dp them behind cover then jump over and burn everything alive

HEAVY SUPPORT

daemon prince ( 240, khorne, wings, armor, lesser rewards ) well its a giant flying beast what more can i say

x2 soul grinder ( 180, slaanesh, plegm bombard ) this is to kill air, and shoot pie plates,daemon version of a lemanruss, if it could melee, and shoot air, and pie plates of vomit. also reason why slaanesh is because it gives rending and fleet



khorne units stick together to from a blob of death

daemon prince flys and just kills stuff

soul grinder is to kill stuff from afar and to just hold a spot from things to come close with melee

flamers dp in behind cover jump over and burn infantry

horrors either stay with the khorne blob, or dp in


total points : 1847

I have a bunch of suggestions.

The herald of tzeentch needs at least one more level. 25 points for an extra 2D6 S6 attacks is a great buy. A third level gets expensive but the chance to roll misfortune or another powerful divination spell is useful. Even another D6 S6 shots is not bad.

Drop the iridescent horror in the pink horrors. It will accomplish literally nothing. Your unit will vaporize in CC anyway so there is no need to have a character that can eat challenges to save your herald.

Drop the three flamers or find points to get more. 3 S4 AP4 templates won't do much against marines and you already have a ton of AP4 from the horrors if you are fighting Tau or whatever. Even worse, after your flamers kill one marine or something they have a solid chance of giving them 6+ FNP. All of the tzeentch units need to be able to demolish the squad they are targeting to make up for this drawback. This gives you more than enough points for your herald of tzeentch to get another mastery level.

I'd add a greater reward to your daemon prince. The defensive buffs are extremely good and can save the day if you get grounded and shot to death.

I'd consider adding the banner of charging distance to the Bloodletters. They are slooow and need to get across the field without getting shot up. An extra few inches on the charge can help this. The banners aren't cheap, though.

All that said, I think the general consensus is that Bloodletters are actually very weak troops compared to some of the others. T3 5++ isn't all that effective at keeping you alive as you get across the board. They also will blank if they get into combat with units with a 2+ save (let alone 2+/3++ to survive the Herald's attacks). Daemonettes are just as sturdy, run three inches more, charge further, can threaten terminators, are better against hordes, and still ruin marines in close combat with a zillion rerolling rending attacks. Their herald can also pick out units to challenge so you can get rid of the character in a guard blob to force them to break. They also play almost as well with Skarbrand as Bloodletters. If your meta is exclusively marines then maybe I could see the Bloodletter choice but people seem to by picking up on Daemonettes.

Also, a minimum squad of Plaguebearers might be nice as an objective camper here. Its only 90 points and can get a 2+ cover save by going to ground. That's 90 points for 10 models that are just as tough as terminators. Seems like a good buy to me.

so the tzeech herald can use his divination and his spell at the same time?

the vet horror was literally because i had 8 points to spend and didn't know who to give it to

well what i mostly fight is marines, orks, chaos, and those ******* space wolves... never won agenst wolves even with proxy, ba, chaos, orks, ig, nothing count beat them. what would you recomend other then plauge bearers witch i will get for that 2+++ cover save ( and herald for fnp ) what should i get ( also fought tau, but i always beat them, yay cc )

the reason i gave it a lesser reward was because i ran out of points to give it a greater

i can understand the banner but.. that's once per game and that's if they survive shooting, should i give each of them an instrument and a banner?

well i already have 20 slaanesh daemonets, i just never used them only as point filler, but now that you say that i think i will use them on the side for fighting orks and stuff

I think the difference between 'letters and Daemonettes are very situational.

Bloodletters are better at killing Armour 3-6, because of power weapons. They have higher strength, and hit most things on 3's. However, they have 1 attack each, are T3 and I4, which means they won't kill any Marines before themselves dying.

Daemonettes, because of Rending, are better at killing Termies. Marines will get Armour saves, but since Daemonettes are I5, hit on 3's and have 2 attacks base, they will kill Marines before the MEQ even gets to attack.
The Rapturous Standard also gives a one-off -D3 to enemy WS. This gives a 66% chance to make the MEQ hit on 5's.

So Daemonettes get more attacks, but have lower Str, but can Rend. It might average out between that and 'letters. But personally, I like Daemonettes better because of their other abilities.
