So I am looking to expand my specials and as the new WoC armybook is out and they have Forsaken models now, I have been trying to decide whether or not they are worth getting. After browsing the Dakka sights and reading other ppls opinions I have decided that maybe spending my money on the models would be a waste since most think they are not worth the cost points wise to really put them on the table. Even with that being said I still would like to run forsaken sometimes, maybe not in a tournament but in a friendly game possibly. So would anyone here think that using other models, not the GW forsaken models, be acceptable maybe even other GW models like Beastmen models(the Un-Gor models are based on the same base size)? I am just curious what you all think, if that would be considered workable and even tournament legal(if I chose to run them in a tourney).

Hmmm yeah I could do that too I suppose but was looking for something a bit more not typical to WoC ...kind of looking for something that stood out.

I second this. You won't need (as many of) them anymore anyway, so cut off some arms and get dem tentacles going.

Probably not tourney legal. I think Forsaken are fine, it's just people dislike extra random effects and WoC has so many good units to choose from.

core warriors or trolls are pretty effective anyways at all the tournaments ive been to both GW and local meta allows conversions aslong that its a look alike and you make sure your opponent knows what unit it is.

I'm planning on using either Gors (Beastmen) or Pink Horrors for Forsaken whenever I do run them. Either of those should be fine even in a tourney as they are separate and distinct from the other units in your army.

He didn't say conversions. Beastmen as Forsaken is a proxy.

I was thinking of even taking the bodies of the Un-Gor and mixing them up with some of the marauder bits I have ...put some marauder heads on them and so forth just to give them that twisted look, I just think that the goat bodies would add a bit of a different look to my Army.

I made some Forsaken with Chaos Warriors, Beastmen and a mix of daemon parts. I find it makes them even cooler, as you can do whatever youd like. And the Warrior parts look good with beast heads and some nurgle arms, or whatever really, ans just fill in weird spots with some greenstuff. But the forsaken models are soo terrible.

Yes, I would agree they are horrible. Mixing and matching of warrior parts and daemon parts with Beastmen parts, very good idea I like that ! Thanks for the ideas and advice all of you.
