Hello there Dakka!
So, after begging my local
GW's manager to start running a regular painting competition again, it has been decided that they'll run one every month in Liverpool, starting back in January. I promised myself, to prove that I could do it, that I'd paint a model every month that I myself was happy with, and would happily and proudly enter, regardless of the competition.
So, January's theme was "Wikid Wizardz", with the challenge being to paint up a Wizard or psyker from one of their gaming systems. I only found out a few days before the competition and pretty much worked non stop to get this Weirdboy done, which I got first place with:
When February came around the theme was Daemons and Monsters. I decided on this Venom themed Daemon monstrosity fighting an Ork Boy, which eventually won second place:
So this month's theme is Tracks and Wheels, so, failing to move on from the Marvel theme of the previous month, I've started work on this little guy:
At the end of assembly, cleanup and scupting I got here:
And after a few days painting, this is where I am at the moment:
I plan to update this blog as often as I can, with any progress I make. Hopefully a few of you will keep up with it, give me some c+c on my work, and tips to help me win
But seriously, no matter if I win or not I'm enjoying painting up a miniature every month for a purpose, to distract me from painting the multitude of armies I'm working on.
Cheers guys!
Joe
