I am trying to make a mech list and here is my idea:

HQ
CCS, 4x melta, astropath - 120 (in Vendetta)
CCS, 3x melta - 80 (in Vendetta)

Elites
Storm Troopers, 2x melta, airborne assasult - 105
Storm Troopers, 2x melta, airborne assasult - 105

Troops
Veterans, 3x plasma, Chimera (ML, HB) - 170
Veterans, 3x plasma, Chimera (ML, HB) - 170
Veterans, 3x plasma, Chimera (ML, HB) - 170
Veterans, 3x plasma, Chimera (ML, HB) - 170

Fast
Vendetta - 130
Vendetta - 130

Heavy Support
2x LRBT (squadron) - 300
1x LR Executioner - 190
2x Griffon (squadron) - 150

General tactics is to place Griffons in cover or behind tanks, use storm troopers for opening vehicles, move forward with Russes and chimeras and make a pressure on my oponent with the wall from steel.

I would say a very nice list, not much I would really say is wrong with it. A solid strategy, good job.

Yep, seems pretty solid.

Not convinced about the griffons though, they really just don't deal that much damage.

I would prefer a single colossus or manticore over them definitely.

Also the Executioner really wants plasma sponsons, it makes it considerably more powerful.

The list seems very solid. I would change one of the vet squads to have meltas IMO. Also the griffons could be swapped for something else - say a manticore or another basic russ. Or you can just take another vendetta and un squadron the russ squad. The sponsons are a good idea for the executioner but you run the risk of getting hot. You should make some of the Chimeras to have HF as well.

I'm not sold on the griffons either. dropping them allows you to add autocannons to the vet squads (lots of str7 shots) and then you could get a manticore or another russ or whatever.

you may not want all your melta in flying machines either. Havign an extra chimera for one of the CCS is a good idea whether you use it or not.

Eh, depends on how you run the vets. If your moving them up then you are going to be snap firing them every turn. If your going to sit them back and shoot then become prone to assault and lose out on moving up and make maximum use of your plasma vets inside getting to rapid fire. I wouldnt add heavy weapons unless you plan on staying still.

Also, why 2 CCS?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but with the CCS's having to disembark to use their melta then it seems like a way to loose a couple of kill points like warlord and so forth?

I didn´t realize this. I swapped CCS with plasma vets.

Not good experience with them, first game I used them, and I wrecked my LR in two rounds . But maybe I can give them another chance. :-)

Looks good, all I'd suggest is dropping 1 meltagun from a CCS and the krak grenades and that should give you 20pts right? Then use that to make the colossus a manticore.
