Hi, I always have been a fan of the Lord of the Rings skirmish game when I was introduced to it by the Deagostini magazine series which also learned me some tricks about scratchbuilding! It's one of the games I play the most although much with unpainted miniatures. With the release of the hobbit I was looking forward at the starterset but just could not pay that amount of my money. So with that in mind I started on a quest with the final goal of playing all the amzing skirmishes and battles of the hobbit at a low cost compared with the newly released miniatures from Games Workshop!

I have written some posts already on my blog so here's a small introduction.

A post about alternatives for Goblin Town

A post about alternatives for Bolg, the fierce Orc leader

I will be adding more posts here as my quest continues! Similar threads were posted on TMP and LAF so the thread can look familiar.

Cheers

Still in reserve.

You're the man Belgian, thanks for posting these! : D I've only got a cotton sheet and some snow-trees, both from a local crafting shop, as current terrain and I was literally just preparing to delve into the web on the hunt for more dynamic terrain. I mean, this game has such great terrain rules and with its skirmish build having more varied and heavier amounts of terrain adds a whole new level of fun! I'll be sure to keep a close eye on your updates.

For Rohan, you could use Gripping Beast plastics. 40 in a box instead of the 10, and they look about the same!
