I played a game against Jon last night. He is rocking the Minotaurs chapter which is a F.W chapter from an Imperial Armour book. I am expecting a good fight as he is bringing triple Vindies, and I do not like one Vindie let alone three!

Deployment
Jon wins the roll off and lets me go first, this is a good idea as Necrons as a mid range army and I won't get so many shots off on him the first turn. It will allow him to drop demolisher shells on me from a distance.
I deploy all on the right flank with my Wraiths at the front, Ghost Arks in the middle and then all Barges behind with Overlords on each flank.
Jon deploys spread out across his table edge, going from left to right - Land Raider, missile launcher combat squad, Vindicator,
Devs w/ Reclusiarch, shield Marines w/ Moloc, Vindicator, Marines in a ruin, Vindicator and then the two Razors.
* Tactical Notes
It looks like Jon fears my gauss more than I fear his Land Raider as he has deployed it a long way from me. I'll keep it at an arms distance for now, but I am tempted to send the none warlord Overlord towards that way and cut it up with his warscythe, if the Overlord survives he can attack the 5 man units camping on the hill in ruins along side a Vindie.
All Vindies will be my target priority. The Marines will be next as they can rapid fire my Wraiths to death, everything else I am not bothered about.
Turn 1
Wraiths roll up 12" and I am 10" away from assaulting the plasma unit in a ruin. Everything else moves up behind while ABs move up 12" to get into range. Warlord zooms down the right flank while the other splits off to go to the left.
Shooting; Warlord moves flat out and lands in front of a Razorback, unless Jon moves his Razor, then my
CCB won't be shot at. I forget to move the other
CCB like a goon. Wraiths run forward and spread out as I cannot risk not getting into assault and I would rather have them spread out for survivibility. Lances fire at the Vindie on the most right flank and I knock a hull point off. ABs unleash on the unit inside a ruin, the funky shields give re-rolls for failed saves against shooting attacks (my primary strength in Necrons) and I only kill a single Marine.
Minos; Razorbacks move and both squads disembark and move up to rapid fire the Wraiths. Moloc's unit comes down to unleash rapid fire death. I think the Achilles just pisses about. Unit in ruin comes out towards my Wraiths - not sure why as they are in rapid fire range anyway.
Shooting; Wraiths get blasted by Vindies, bolters and heavy flamers, one unit has two Wraiths left while another unit has four left - I did very well on saves and I really cannot complain.
* Tactical Notes
Ok, not the start I was looking for but overall I cannot complain. The Wraiths have taken a real pounding, but next turn they will bitch slap those shield boys in combat and those shields do not work in combat
Next turn the Warlord will sweep a combat squad right by him and then charge them. Depending on how things go, the larger Wraith unit may assault the Vindie, but the two man unit will not survive combat without support, so I will dakka the plasma shield Marine unit.
Turn 2
I roll for reserves and my 5 man unit walks onto the board and stops by the Mino objective - don't ask about this objective as Jon explained it to me several times but I still didn't get it :s.
Overlord on left flank moves over further, I am trying to keep the distance between the Achilles and I hope Jon will take the bait of the
CCB and move up. Warlord sweep attacks Combat Squad and three die. Ghost Arks move up while ABs move just to get jink saves. Wraiths move up and the two man unit can assault the plasma Marine unit while the larger unit can assault the Vindie if it survives.
Shooting; Lances and gauss fire into the Vindicator and it is totalled. I dakka the Razors as easy kill points but get no auto glances from gauss :( I put all remaining shots into the plasma Marine unit, though I do not kill many as the Captain tanks the wounds. Overlord on left flank moves flat out but I do not move the full distance, this means Jon will have to move 12" in order to get me, so he can only fire one weapon at
POTMS and snap fire the other - hopefully my jink is strong!
Assault; larger unit of Wraiths charge the plasma unit, one dies to overwatch but they make it, the two man unit follows. Marines lost combat though I cannot remember result, I catch them in sweeping advance, brilliant for me as my Wraiths can no longer be shot at. Warlord charges the two surviving Marines and the hammer of wrath from the
CCB flatens them.
Minos; Achilles takes the bait and moves 12" towards my
CCB, not only does the Overlord have a warscythe but also Warriors are there to assist with gauss. Razorbacks both move 12" to avoid the Warlord. Moloc's unit comes down ready to aid support to the squad engaged in combat. I also pop my first pulse, let there be darkness!
Shooting; one Vindie fires at a Ghost Ark, scatters hits
AB but pass jink. Other Vindie does better and takes out a Ghost Ark, the xeno skimmer goes boom and two Warriors drop, these Warriors get shot by heavy bolters and another goes down.
Devs fire kraks into another Ghost Ark, I think Jon gets a glance and I jink it. Achilles blasts the
CCB, I failed jink and it comes boom - Overlord passes pinning test. Shooting is all done, one Warrior gets back up.
Assault; Moloc and his buds assault my Wraiths, I pass a silly amount of saves and combat is a draw. Combat Squad also piles into assault.
Kill points - Necrons: 2 Minos: 2
* Tactical Notes
Ok, I kicked the game off with first blood and we're drawing on kill points. I think I maybe in a better position because I hope/think that Achilles is going to go down and there's easy targets still out there. Plus my Wraiths have now tied up two Marine units, which I can pile the Warlord into.
Next turn I will move the Overlord and Warriors towards the Achilles and gauss and chop it up. I'll move Warriors from the exploded Ghost Ark up to deal with another Vindicator with ABs in support. Remaining Ghost Arks can tackle the empty Razorbacks while the Overlord will assault that Combat Squad who just joined the fight.
Turn 3
Squad in the crater of the Ghost Ark get regenerated by nearby Ghost Ark and are restored to full strength, they then march up with double
AB support towards the closest Vindie. Other Ghost Arks remain on the right flank to deal with the two Razorbacks and broadside the Vindie if needed. Warriors who come in from reserve move to gauss the Achilles while the Overlord moves to chop it up.
Shooting; gauss and lances blast the Vindie though only take a hull point off it, ABs blast it, do nothing but twice arcs off onto the
Dev squad nearby and the squad is dead! Necrons inside a Ghost Ark broadside it and the Vindie is dead. Remaining Warriors and Ghost Arks strip hull points from a Razorback with gauss while the remaining
AB takes a hull point off another. Warriors by the Achilles rapid fire it and take off three hull points!
Assault; Overlord charges the Achilles and cuts a big hole in it while the Warlord charges the Combat Squad engaged with the Wraiths, only kills one via hammer of wrath and then kills another two. Ultimately my Wraiths die
Minos; Combat Squad regroups, though they have nothing to do. Moloc splits from his unit and tries coming for my Warlord. I do pop my last pulse.
Last Vindie shells the oncoming Warriors, they aren't all wiped out and I pass one cover save thanks to night fighting. Krak missile from the Combat Squad in the ruin slams into a
AB and knocks off a hull point.
Assault; Moloc charges my Warlord, he gets mindshackled and hits himself though is ok, Overlord smacks him and takes a wound off him.
Kill points - Necrons: 6 Minos: 4
* Tactical Notes
It's all going well; the Achilles went down easier than I thought, that bail worked nicely. Also allowed me to put more fire power into another Vindicator. Wraiths did well, but I knew they wouldn't stand 27 Marines and ultimately went down, though they held them up and now I can blast the Marines with fire power.
Next turn the Warlord will sweep the two man Combat Squad and head up the board towards the last Vindicator, he will be supported with the Warrior unit on foot. Everything else will remain and dakka the depleted plasma Marine unit and if any shots left fire into the last Razorback.
Turn 4
Necrons; Warlord sweeps the two man Combat Squad and kills them both. Ghost Arks shuffle about along with ABs, the depleted Warriors get regen'd again and back to full strength - they march up the board to blast the last Vindicator. Warriors by the Achilles wreck join the Overlord, they run into terrain.
Shooting; Warlord moves flat out and lands right by the last remaining Combat Squad. Warriors fire into the Vindicator and reduce it down to a single hull point. Ghost Arks and Warriors rapid fire into the depleted plasma unit, one guy remains.
Minos; Molov rejoins the larger unit and they move to assault a Ghost Ark. Lone ranger Marine moves into terrain for some kind of cover.
Shooting; krak missile blasts a Ghost Ark and it goes boom, all Warriors are ok after re ani protos. Vindicator blasts a
AB and immobilises it.
Assault; Molov and his mates assault my Warriors, a Marine dies to overwatch though my Warriors remain in close combat, which means I cannot shoot the punk ass Marines.
Kill points - Necrons: 7 Minos: 5
* Tactical Notes
Looks like the end is here for the Minos, I just need to finish off the Vindicator and the Combat Squad and I am happy. I know I am not going to get those Marines in close combat.
Turn 5
Both Warriors on foot along with dual ABs move up to the Vindicator while the remaining Ghost Ark moves up to deal with the single Marine and remaining Razorback.
Shooting; Vindicator is wasted by gauss and lances. Razorback is stripped to bits by gauss fire and the last Marine is atomised.
Assault; Warlord charges the Combat Squad,
CCB gets hit by overwatch krak, but jinks, three Marines die from hammer of wrath and the other two kill each other with mind shackles - Lord doesn't even lift a finger! My Warriors get battered and this time are destroyed by sweeping advance.
Minos; the last squad move up to my Warriors on foot by the smoking Vindicator wreck, pop pistols, assault and flaten my Warriors via sweeping advance.
We roll for game here and it ends, Necrons pick up a victory with 11 points and Minotaurs 7
Summary
An enjoyable game with Jon, I like playing games when you know there is a a reasonable amount of stuff which can threaten you i.e Vindicators and Achilles, it's a more fairer fight.
Jon's deployment let him down, he really should have put all his units in top right corner and had the Vindicators at the front - I would moved up towards him and took heavy fire power, if I got too close out comes the Achilles with double multi meltas - even the Thunderfire could have popped at Wraiths when I was moving up. Ultimately I just moved up one half of the board with practically all my army and mashed up anything which was in front of me. Those shield armed Marines were damn annoying, but the Wraiths did some damage and held them up.
