The upgrade pack in the link. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but as I understand it, the upgrade ONLY contain the bits in the picture, right? Even though the item description says "Weapons, backpacks and heads(indicating more than one of each item).
I hope I'm wrong, as I'm aiming for 30 Noise Marines, and wow, that's going to be expensive with only 1 model per pack :-(

Since it says its a 10 piece pack and there's 10 pieces in te picture...

You get exactly what is pictured.

Only so many models per 10 csm can take noise weaponry, hence why they aren't available in larger numbers, as most folk would only need 1 / 2 upgrades.

The majority of the squad will be totting bolters.

I don't think it's the weapons he cares about, but the backpacks, etc.

And every Noise Marine can replace his bolter.

Every Noise Marine may exchange his bolter with a Sonic Blaster at the cost of +3 points per model.

Correct. There is an upgrade pack with just weapons, containing 6 weapons + arms at the same price. But I also want the heads and backpacks. But hell if I want to pay that much for it...

Looks like the same bits that I have in storage. Nothing new here.

Adam's Motto: Paint, Create, Play, but above all, have fun. -and for something silly below-

"We are the Ultramodrines, And We Shall Fear No Trolls. bear this USR with pride".

Also, how does one apply to be a member of the Ultramodrines? Are harsh trials involved, ones that would test my faith as a wargamer and resolve as a geek?

You must recite every rule of Dakka Dakka. BACKWARDS.

Sonic Weapons Pack gives you 1 Blastmaster and 5 Sonic Blasters

Noise Marines Upgrade Pack gives you 3 heads 1 Blast Master 1 sonic Blaster...

Basically the old lead Noise Marine upgrade pack from the box.

I would go for just the champion getting this pack and then trade or ebay for the nice super spikey backpack from the CSM box.

If you want to give your Noise Marines a unique Noise Marine look a cheaper alternative to those backpacks is going to the Dollar store and buying yourself some ear buds and green stuffing them on their shoulders and then painting them to fit the marine..makes it look like they have giant speakers on the models

I haven't begun the process on my marines just yet but I have an ambition to one day make a functioning noise marine hopefully with some AC/DC or maybe Cult of Personality or Freak on a leash blasting from them..that would be pretty sweet!!

just a suggestion...hopefully I'll get around to it after my Dark Eldar are done

Looking forward to the opening of 40k: The Musical

List of TV show ideas: Late night with Kharne, Farseer and friends, Sigvald in Space

Almost seems like it'd be cheaper to build a Plague Marines army entirely out of Finecast.

Fang, son of Great Fang, the traitor we seek, The laws of the brethren say this: That only the king sees the crown of the gods, And he, the usurper, must die.

Yeah it was a total rip off when I got them, thankfully 2 packs (1 from a friend). They at least made it down to the sacred number. So I can take my two (bl)Ass(t)masters in 1 squad now.

Otherwise, I'd never use all 20 perv marines that I have....

If you want em, buy em. But lets face it. Proxy them first before throwing even more money down "GW that thirsts for your money"'s throat.

Someone suggested buying just one set and a mold cast to copy them. I might consider that...

Yea.. But Plague Marines are a pretty poor option for a Slaanesh inspired army, though....

I have a few metal blasmasters and sonic blasters lying around that I inherited from a friend. I sold a few on ebay for a decent amount of money. I should really sell them but it's such a mission...

Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...

I've seen some very good noise blaster conversions using regular bolters with the ammo clip removed, that gargoyle-head bit that comes in most chaos vehicles fitted to the barrel of the gun and a couple of guitar strings connecting the gun to the backpack.

In Boxing matches, you actually get paid to take a dive and make the other guy look good.

In Warhammer 40K, you're expected to pay cash out of your pocket for the privilege of having Marines and IG trample all over your Xenos/Chaos.

Hey, that's exactly what I did, I do like the result. Blastmasters were made out of dirge casters.

Try the Forge World Volkite Charger/Calivers. I've been thinking of using them to proxy some Noise Marines in my Word Bearers army for a while now....

I like the muzzle of these, but other than that, they're way too plasma-like for my taste.
