Aye, this was confirmed by Blizzard pretty much before it launched on the PC, its always been their intention, or at least according to some twitter posts, and comments in interviews in the year leading up to the PC launch that it would be making its way to consoles.
Tbh they way they where talking I was expecting an announcement a lot earlier than we got one, but I suspect the teething problems they had at launch for the PC game put a hold on it.

Do not underestimate the Squats. They survived for millenia cut off from the Imperium and assailed on all sides. Their determination and resilience is an example to us all.

Yeah, I hope the console versions bombs, I can't imagine it doing all that well with all the bad publicity the PC version made. Well, I wouldn't be able to imagine that, except I know most console owners don't look at reviews and other such things before buying a game. Something that becomes abundantly clear when you look at movie tie-in sales.
