I've rolled back your player data file to the last working version (a few minutes earlier). Seems to be working now, give it a try.

How's things going, dark? I saw that picture of the new nexus you tweeted, it's looking cool

Am I right in thinking this new world is standard Biomes O' Plenty?

Not too bad. Finally starting to get more free time to work on things. My main focus today is on getting the Vanilla Dakka Minecraft server migration done - no change to the world there, just shifting it to the shiny new server hardware and making sure things like the map, backups and player list still work.

As for Monster, still no ETAs yet (I'm also keeping an eye on whether 1.1.2 is going to go recommended or not). The new world is Biomes O' Plenty, yes. I've got a very basic spawn done and terrain pre-generated for the Overworld and Twilight Forest (as they tend to be the first to be explored). Got the Nexus done - picture below for those who don't do Twitter. Note that some portals aren't active, it's up to you guys to unlock those dimensions (even if they're easy to do with the amount of loot you currently have). Also, to save time, I haven't really changed the nexus and mining ages very much. Still lots to do behind the scenes (like Dynmap, backups etc).

Spoiler:

The Steam sales aren't helping my productivity...

Well, it's good you've got the free time

Biomes O' Plenty means there should be Redwood Forests I might just have to find one to live in.

Awesome.

So for the eventual transfer, what is the recommended method of transferring items?

Ender chests? Backpacks? Either way im gonna load them with AE storage drives.

Do you have any plans on item transfer yet, Darkinnit? Ender chest copying, starter packages, or just lump it and get started from scratch?

It won't be starter packages or starting from scratch - that's probably for a 1.7 pack.

All I'll say for now is don't put much effort into Enderchests, they won't be much use at all. Instead if you want to makes things easier for yourself, focus on items that let you carry many items at a time, like golden bags and Applied Energistics storage. I don't want to give too much away just yet, but don't worry if you can't fit everything you want into your players' inventory...

Dark, the inventory roll back fixed the not logging in, however the drives are still broken, and crash me out, also they are only a grey square rather than the proper texture, could maybe a chunk rollback fix it?

Yeah, I've just put all of me ME stuff in a Golden Bag with some quick engines and conduits. I reckon I can be up and running again within 10 minutes of picking a base location

They seemed fine to me when I logged in. Are you using anything unusual like Optifine?

Ah I hadn't noticed that, probably because there's only one drive there and it was doing the "blank" thing you described. It crashed me when I looked at it, but I was able to get around that by disabling the WAILA tooltip. The disks were all there, but if there's supposed to be three drives there, I guess I'll have to go look through the backups.

I'll take a look after dinner.

@cptprice - rolled back to last working backup and all seems fixed:

Spoiler:

I would appreciate it if you destroy anything that has been duplicated by rolling back.

Well I have encountered a similar yet different bug, can't logon again, this time it is due to control shift clicking disks into a golden bag of holding .

Sorry Dark

Ugh. This will have to wait till tomorrow.

Remember, you don't have to fit everything into one inventory's worth of space. There really is no need. Especially as it seems to be causing so many problems.

I'm going to test in single player, hopefully strong boxes are better than golden bags...

Ok, rolled back your chunks and your player again to make sure everything's in sync.

I'd recommend leaving your AE system functional rather than tearing it apart and causing golden bag singularities. It could come in useful to have a working system...

Ok will do, i will move everything into the me system and leave it at that

Ok so everything is now in the collection of drives... thats it done

Not sure if it's cryptically hinting at something. It's more of a general hint that stuff-that-works is more useful now and later than stuff that doesn't work.

My minecraft client either crashes or gets immediately disconnected with an "end of stream" message. Is that a problem on my end?

It worked earlier today and the last thing i did prior to a disconnect with bad packet id 2 was filling a couple of syringes from Advanced Genetics with my blood. Since then i get the above crash/disconnect.

No, i had the same error but with AE drives, after investigation, it appears to be related to weird item or block syncing, Dark will probably have to fix that, unless a server reboot fixes it.

So that's why you two were logging in and out quickly- I was on at the time. Darkinnit had the same problem i think.

Unfortunately my client still crashes or disconnects immediately during login even after the reboot. Dark, if you are not too busy could you please try to fix it.

I've rolled back your player data file to the previous working version, but it was a bit close between the backup and your disconnect, so see if it works or if I have to go one further back.
