Question I've been thinking of starting a daemon army specifically a Khorne with elements of nurgle army.

Question 1

How do daemons deal with vehicles other than the greater daemon

Question 2

Is deep strike worth it? Considering daemons are very quick

Question 3

Objective holding which unit is best?

I'm thinking of starting at 500pts then onto 1000pts then 1500pts what would you recommend for 500pts keeping in mind I want mostly Khorne

Any MC or FMC, and Nurgle units in general (plague swords) can pop AV14 vehicles. Any of the Khorne, Slaanesh, or Nurgle ones can pop most vehicles, due to Glancing them to death by dealing tons of plague sword, S3 Rending, or S5 (Furious Charge on all Daemons of Khorne) hits to their rear armor.

Deep Striking can be useful for some units. Especially slower ones, like, say, a Great Unclean One.

Horrors and Plaguebearers are both excellent for holding objectives in cover. The fact that they can Go to Ground now is a huge help.

Can't get much juicy stuff in 500 pts, but you could try 20 bloodletters with Herald, and maybe plaguebearers if you want to get an idea of the army.

Not really able to get MC in 500 pts (or even 1000 pts in my experience) without drastically cutting down on the rest of your army.

Maybe a DP on foot with armour and not much else? I think thats less than ~200.

Also, daemons tend to need speed now, flesh hounds seem to be decent but they can lack a strong punch in CC, because no PW.
I haven't tried the Nurgle Flies but they seem decent with ID stinger

Masque of slaanesh or blue scribes are really nice in a low point game, and leave alot more points for more troops.

In my opinion, plague bearers are your best objective holders. Take min squads of them and hold up in cover.

For 500pts I would grab

1 x Skarbrand 225pts
2 x 10 x bloodletters, bloodreaper with 1 lesser reward, instrument and icon 135pts each

Surround Skarbrand with bloodletters and run at the opponent screaming "skulls for the skull throne"

Granted this army is far from compeditive and has some major drawbacks but it would be crazy fun to play and not alot of armies can take down a MC @ 500pts.

Maybe drop some rewards and upgrade to a bloodthister if you want a FMC but personally I love Skarbrand. He has to be the most powerful character in the whole game. Charges with 9 attacks that are WS 10, fleshbane so always wounds on 2+, Ap2 and inflicts instant death all at I 10... love it

I like the sound of

@500pts
Bloodthirster
2 squads of bloodletters

@1000pts add
2 winged DPs

@1500pts add
Another winged DP
Another bloodthister

Yes your troops are an easy kill but keep them in reserves and hide them as best you can. Use your overwhelming FMC presence to hunt out your enemy scoring units and from then on its a bloodbath
