To get this started quick - my approach to painting a group of tau firewarriors,
tips on what to improve next time greatly appreciated.

First off - summary/ lineup

a closeup...

embrace the ugliness!

The firewarrior on the right has a steel plate on his helmet - looks wierd when i think of it now but
when i made him i was thinking of how some german soldiers in WW1/WW2 reinforced thier helmets like m40

A drone

another one...

... and a closeup ... - i tried to make the weathering look realistic on the drones for a change - hope it worked out.

as last my teamleader/shas'ui - hes not quite finished as a spare helmet on his belt is missing - and i forgot to paint the eyes...

(i hope i uploaded the pictures correctly.)

Thats all for now. All models have been repainted about 8 times (were old minis). Im still working on a devilfish repaint and will post it here - comments greatly appreciated.

Now you have to take an Ethereal to make these guys veterans

The face of the Shas'ui looks really amazing.

Playing mostly Necromunda and Battletech, Malifaux is awesome too!

very nice!

It is a change to see Tau with a bit of grit on them. These guys look like they have really been through the mill and lived to tell the tale.

Looking forward to seeing more!

Maybe a little too much grit in my opinion, but that drone weathering does look pretty damn good.

I'm very impressed, they look great. Although I'm not sure a military unit that can upkeep anti-gravity propulsion systems on their drones would use scrap metal to reinforce their helmets!

These are probably the coolest Fire Warriors and Drones I've ever seen. Most Tau are painted far too clean for WH40K, these look awesome.

Excellently executed as well.

Nice to read some of the feedback-

@Oaka: Now that you say it - The steelplate reinforcement doesnt make sense to me either to be honest .

@Grotzar: Depends on how you see it - I never really tried to be good and raise my skill-level in the past.
Still trying to develop my own technique and learn how to use colors and washes correctly or where to put accents.
As for these minis I used a very basic scheme without any real highlighting.

@XT-1984
Well glad to hear that. I personally am somewhat unhappy how my firewarriors look. If i could start from scratch I would probably go for it. I guess thats the side effect of seeing so much interesting tau painted on a much higher level - but ill get there... one day

sooo...

I still have a devilfish in the making and a crappy XV suit that I couldnt really repaint due to thickness of the earlier color coats, youll see what I mean. Making a picture of that later I guess.

Thank you and keep those comments coming!
