Okay, this is my first post here. I've just finished my first custom army (or atleast the basic part). Other than the Dark Vengeance box I've never painted or bought figures before. All the pictures are located here: http://lukecarry.co.uk/g2/index.php/WarHammer/Necrons . If you go up a folder you can also see my Dark Vengeance stuff but i think it's a little sub par.

What i have done is as follows:

Base coated in Imperial Primer, Coated in a mix of 50:50 Abaddon Black and Leadbelcher, Dry Brushed Lead Belcher, Drybrushed Runefang Steel from the top and then picked out some of the plating with 2 coats of moot green and then 'ardcoat. On the vehicles i have broken the green up by doing some plates in the 50:50 mix.

If you could take a look and offer critiques as well as tell me what could be better that'd be great! I realise they aren't exactly Golden Demon winners but I'd like to think they were OK!

They are good TT quality IMHO.
I'd wash them with black on the metal parts, and brown or dark green on the green part, that would add some contrast and depth.

The green seems pretty "fat" though, you should thin it more, it seems you are losing some details.

Other than that, if you're aiming for "Pretty on the table", you got it right.

I've washed some of them down with Seraphim Sepia. The look i was going for is to match my backstory for them, basically the tomb world has been re awakened and they are slowly coming back to life, the green painted areas are supposed to be glossy ceramics where as the rest of them are fairly generic metals. the reason for them not being completely rusted up is that the living metal has started to repair itself and shake off some of the rust and dirt built up over millennia of underground hibernation.

They haven't come out as dark in the body as i'd hoped, the green was supposed to be HUGELY bright to contrast the dull/dirty/rusting bodies of the figures themselves.

When you say thin the paints how would i go about doing that without compromising the strength of the colours? also is there anyway to get the shine that the 'ardcoat gives without using it? the 'ardcoat itself is fairly thick.

Moved to general P&M, as Showcase requires at least one pic of a finished miniature in the opening post.
