Hey guys. Im in a pickle.... I currently run a CSM / CD allied army at 2000pts. Without getting into the list itself I need help deciding if I want to use my DPs as CSM or CD... here are how I would equip them... Please help me decide

OPTION 1
Chaos space marine daemon prince
Daemon of khorne
Wings
Power armor
The black mace
265pts

OPTION 2
chaos daemons daemon prince
Daemon of khorne
Wings
Power armor
1 greater reward (swap roll for blade of blood)
1 exalted reward (swap roll for eternal blade)
270pts

The only difference is the marine DP gets +D6 attacks, fleshbane and the cursed rule for the black mace where as the Daemons prince gets +D3 attacks, WS and initiative from one sword and +D3 attacks (rampage) from the other... plus +1 attack for 2ccw (both specialist)

black mace is where it is at, if you add enfeeble to the mix, you are downing pretty much decimating any unit you put it into.

My favorite example was charging an azerial backed IG blob squad, I enfeebled them donw to 2 and after bile ins, prettymuch his whole unit was in it's range. pretty funy to watch 30 gaurdsman disappear on a 3+.

Having a DP of khorne means no psyker thou, I think the CSM one is better because it is fearless and in the odd case that he might lose combat the daemon one would take automatic wounds. The pro of daemon one over CSM is that they can go full biomancy instead of having to spend 1 power on an specific god.

That being said I would go with a DoT CSM DP.

For 270 points, why not take a bloodthirster with a greater reward. That's better than either DP

Compared to the CD prince a bloodthister only really has +1 toughness.... where as the DP gets more attacks... I suppose that is a close call too

Totally agree. Even stock a 'thirster is a better buy.

That said, if I had to pick a DP, I'd go with CSM and black mace.

And +1 weapon skill
And +5 ballistic skill
And +1 wound
And +1 init
And +1 (base) attacks

The bloodthirster also comes with a STR 6 AP2 weapon. He also comes with an axe of khorne.
You can give him 2 major rewards to have a good chance of giving him something to increase his defense.
You can go for broke and grab the "The Eternal Blade" to give the bloodthirster 8-10 attacks.
The bloodthirster is a beast. If you taking a BM wielding DP, I strongly suggest looking at the BT instead.

Or do like I do and take both.
