I am aware of Forgeworld's growing Horus Heresy Range. I'm also aware of book one-the betrayal. Now, hypothetically speaking, if in the future they released all the stuff for the different legion, could they release a codex for each Legion?

Coz if they did, I couldn't wait to get my hands on the Thousand Son Codex.

They're not going to release a codex for each legion. Each book has general rules for HH-era Space Marines as well as unique units/characters for each Legion, but not exclusive rule seats/fluff for the entirety of each Legion.

Frankly the current system is fine.

I hope they don't, that'd suck pretty hard to have YET MORE fething Space Marine codices diluting the hobby.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

As Harriticus says, there won't be a codex for each legion. The HH:Betrayal book has basic units that all of the legions can use, and some legion specific special characters, rules and units. There is no need to split these up as the whole point was to make a generic list that all of the legions use plus the add-ons.

The upcoming books will cover major events (Drop Site Massacre is next, the first book was the purging of the loyalists for 4 legions) and have the legions that participated in those events. I'm interested in seeing what else they come up with, for sure!

All of that said, I'm sure the Thousand Sons add-ons will be quite divergent from the original units!

The First book details 4 traitor Legions and their Primarchs. However I am assuming they will allow the forthcoming books contents to be decided by the chronology of events in HH not divisions of loyalty. In which case I can't wait for the one based around Prospero- Leman Russ and the Wolves of Fenris plus Magnus and his Sons. That book is gonna take some beating for the colourful and divergent fluff and rules I am expecting.

Beyond the basic army list, each Legion only has a few special wrinkles - their own Legiones Astartes special rule, their Primarch, two or three characters (Loyalist and Traitor), a special bodyguard unit, and a special unit or two. That's it.

It remains to be seen how divergent the next book will be, if new characters/units are introduced for the Betrayal Legions, and so on.

"That's it"?? That's enough- especially seeing as you can allie with other armies. You are getting rules for Primarchs- this will be fun for alot of people. This is great. And as I said the rules are only half of it, the fluff is the other and some of it is kinda interesting stuff not detailed in HH books. Saying that, I wouldn't even consider paying the £70 or whatever they are asking for it. What I meant by divergent was-for example- that Magnus is a psyker Primarch- his rules are going to be unavoidably different from the 4 primarchs so far released and from Russ. I'm looking forward to it.

Wondering Why the Emperor Left

I'm hoping the next book will cover the ruckus between the Thousand Sons and the Space Wolves on Prospero.

It's a great story and gives us two great Legions and an even better Primarch.

Oh. And I forgot Leman Russ

Yeah...but I think the next HH releases on Forgeworld might be Mortarion or Fulgrim and some special EC units...

So yeah, can't wait for the Thousand Sons

Also one more question: What MK armour is your fav? Mine is MK3, as it looks the most dependable outta the whole lot

Only helms i like are crusade pattern and crusade armour, but Corvus pattern is Purty too

if it were a seperate book (or as others have mentioned there is going to be a HH book with rules etc) but there was recently a "special edition chaos codex". it has/had 4 codexes x1 for each god. and a normal non special edition one without the art on the cover (not sure if they are identical in content or not as i didn't feel the need to buy them, and the new CSM codex)
