Last night in our Beastmen vs. OnG I had a Tuskgor Chariot charge a small group of NG archers. The archers chose flee. Here is the setup.

So the NG flee and after fleeing through the orks and stone thrower they are about 20 inches away.

I test to redirect and fail so I roll my charge at the flee NG's

I roll a 12 so I have 19 inch charge range and the Ork Archers are easily in range but I have to aim at the NG's that are out of range, but directly behind the orc archers in range.

We could not definitively figure out if I move forward 6 inches as if failed charge or if I charge the ork archers while trying to get to the goblins that are now out of range?

What if my chariot was only 5 inches from the ork archer and my failed charge would have brought me into contact?

We ended up treating it as a failed charge I moved 6 inches forwards.

If you fail your redirect, you have to charge the NG. Since you cant get to the NG it would be a failed charge.

As above. You failed redirect, so cannot declare a new charge, and therefore must try to contact the NG which you cannot do.

and if you had been 5" away, you would have stopped 1" from the Orc (note the c...) archers

I played 40k first they will always be Orks!
