Guys I need your expertise for this...

My friend has done an 40k race called Virions soem time ago and now he has done an entire codex for them, with rules and referents sheets and points and wargear...
He asked me for opinion, but I didn't do much TT to tell him exactly is the codex is OP, UP or balanced. Or even what to change in it.

So I wondered if someone who has a lot of TT experience can take a look at it and post here what to change, my friend and I would apatite it very much.

Are you sure you got to the right site? There is nothing for download, the codex is readable in online version.

My Computer is a bit lagy but I read a bit. Looking at the commander he has 2+ sv of the bat and has stats more powerful than a chapter master. The codex is a bit OP but I understand why, he has put his heart and soul into the creation of this race and the last thing he wants is for than to be annilated. I'm currently inventing a chapter of my own.

Also there is a few this that shouldn't be in a codex but in a different book altogether. There is too much background info, (refering to my standard SM codex) background info should be summerized. The races biology shouldn't be in the codex either but the drawings were quite good.

I am not trying to hurt you or your friend but try and help you make a better codex. I know it can be difficult and when I told the forum I was making a codex I got insulted by there comments on the subject. I hope I could help

Also noticed that some of the weapons have horrible range but most of there AP is OP. CC weapon special rules are OP, although they lack certain stats like str rules like armourbane, fleshbane and shred are quite powerful which can make a few weapons OP not all of them.

I assume its your friends first try at a codex and It's not a bad first try but needs a bit of work, A few ajustments here and there and it could turn out ok

All your advices are great, I will post him at once. And yes, this is his first time writing codex.
