I'm just wanting to get opinions on my list, I don't intend on changing it much as I like the look and feel of how it would play.

In totaly 1500 points, questions opinions ideas are all welcome, it's more of a list to have fun with than a highly competative list

It seems like an okay start, if not the most competitive list. Just some points:

Rough riders are terrible. They die just like other guardsmen, but cost twice as much, and are harder to hide from line of sight. Unfortunately they are very bad at the moment.

Flamers on the vets, and only 2 plasma in the CCS are wasting BS4 shots. They come at a premium in guard so don't waste them.

What is the point of the second CCS? It appears to be doing nothing that I can see.

Dump the lascannon on the PCS, 1 BS3 shot a turn is not really worth it. Give it 4x flamers and a chimera or vendetta if you want it to actually do damage. Else hide it out of LOS on an objective.

2 infantry squads is very fragile. 3 of them with a commissar (blobbed up) will be hard to shift, but 2 just doesn't cut it.

1 Hydra will die swiftly. It is unlikely to kill a flyer in one turn, and so the flyers will concentrate on it first. If you want it for anti-flyer, take 2 of them.

exterminator is good, but grab HB sponsons on it as well, to give it a bit more firepower against infantry.

medusas are good, keep them separate and in cover as much as possible.

I'm using rough riders because they look awesome so they are staying

The second CCS was just to fill in the spare 50 points I had.

So things to change:

Add another plasma gun to the CCS,

And give flamers to the PCS

What would you suggest to do with the infantry squads then ? Drop them to get the extra hydra and such orr ?

im confused with the vet squad with 3 lascanons. do you mean meltas? and I would advise to put them ina chimera. Im also not crazy about hydras. drop the 2 for a vendetta which has more capable anti-air as well as good anti vehicle/terminator. besides that everything else looks pretty solid. Never tried the rr squad tho.

Well, the old infantry squads had 2 lascannons but at BS 3, I figured 3 lascannon shots at bs 4 would be better and I couldn't think of a better way to fill the spare 100points I had after the changes

So possibly drop the hydras for a vendetta ? Could work.

veteran squads can only have one heavy weapon.

Oh... must have missed that xD hmmm.

give the last veteran squad 3 plasmas and a chimera.

that leaves you with 30 points for a doctrine or if you drop the RR squad points for another leman russ with some sponsons.

As for the breacher shells, maybe do that for one of the medusas and with the points give a plasma pistol to a sergeant.

Just noticed that you removed the hydras and didnt add the vendetta. I added up the total and it is 1500. You might want to make one final adjustment to get one in as you might need some of that anti air.

yeha I wasn't sure what to drop and put in it's place ! what would your thoughts be on that then ?

Because the rough riders are staying, so they aren't going, the only choice is to try drop a vet squad and replace it wit the vendetta then drop marbo and use to points for something basic ?

Vendettas are 130 points. You could drop a medusa or a veteran troop (a squad with the meltas).
